welcome to our the phone we know and (mostly) love as the Moment. it's a known issue.. there's probably about 10-20 threads about this already. the Battery gauge is screwed up, it's not that bad.

No its true... And I'm sick of it... you know when you see the idiot walking down the street with a new WM phone and they have no clue how to use it thats the people posting in the forums now. how do you turn the phone on... sit down and figure it out for 10min god...

We have all had to USE are BRAIN and either figure it out or READ... Thats the problem with people now they want everything handed to them... Figure it out like the rest of use and if you cant than ask for help.

Want a phone that you dont need a BRAIN to use... join the rest and get a damn iphone!

I first got on this board and did a lot of reading, that answered most of my questions without having to post, that being said, dodgeram02, did you power cycle the battery, it is in the samsung moment tips and tricks thread at the top of this section, there is alot of info there. good luck

I'm sure if enough people PM a mod to make the battery thread a sticky, it could happen. And rename it "Battery Problems? Read here first!"

I support this idea.

As someone said earlier the thread title as it is now doesn't really suggest "battery problems". And it's not at the top. We might as well face it that new people to the forums are not going to search. (I've been guilty of it myself).

Im sorry but a phone should be able to go a whole day on a single charge. I too will probably be buying a spare battery off ebay for a back up but i feel as if you shouldnt have to do that.

Has anyone noticed any change using a different battery, or charging your battery using an external charger instead of charging the battery in the phone itself?

If it would be renamed "Having battery troubles?" and made a sticky these wouldn't happen. "Possible battery quirk" doesn't scream problem.

I agree with both above...

OK this is not generalized @ u Massiveian, but I don't know what type of phones some of u guys have used in the past or if y'all are even actually using the phone @all; I am a heavy phone user since the days of having a cell phone back in the early 90's & have never seen nor had a phone that would last even half a full day without needing a charge; heck, a 4th of the day for that matter...

I mean seriously if som1 can honestly name what phone has been able to do this in the past please post & again, not guys that just have a phone to make emergency calls &/or call home to check on the kids/wife etc. I mean reallllllly use a phone...

Well before my moment I had a Helio Ocean 2, which normally had bad battery life. Even then i was able to get a full day out of it and this included about 200+ messages a day plus AIM and I was always on the internet and listening to music. Maybe I was spoiled with such good battery life. But if the moment is so bad on battery life and both samsung and sprint knew this, why would they have not also included an extra charger at no cost. You shouldnt have to buy a phone and then buy accessories just to keep the phone charged all day.

Why give you for free when they can charge 40 bucks for it :D

+10000 on that man.

My Blackberries, iPhone, Treo's can't do a fraction of what Android can do (multi-task, GPS, browser, etc etc), and they all absolutely need a recharge if I'm using them moderate to heavy by the end of the day.

This is why I have spare batteries for all of them (except the iPhone LOL), or have bought portable battery chargers like the APC portable USB charger, or more recently, the ZaggSparq USB charger, for portable power in emergencies.

Dumbphones and Blackberries do this all the time. I've had dumbphones in the past that I could go 48 hours without charging with frequent talk, text, and the crappy web browsing they could do. And every Blackberry user I know uses this as one of their primary reasons for sticking with Blackberries.

Regardless of whether this is normal among smartphones, that doesn't mean it's acceptable. I'm sick of phone manufacturers focusing on slimmer, slimmer, slimmer. Leave the damn phone the same size as it was two generations ago and fill all that space you managed to save with smaller parts with a BIGGER BATTERY. This phone's my lifeline and more and more of my daily tasks, needs, and wants are in it, as is exactly as the manufacturer and carrier were hoping when they designed it. Having to ration my usage, or have it die when I need it most isn't reasonable. Do we expect it? Yes. Does that make it okay? NO.

Now having said all of that, I'm actually mildly impressed with the Moment's battery life. My Touch Pro was often dead by noon. Today I kept my Moment off the charger from 6:30 AM until it flat out died at 3:30 PM. While I still want a phone that does better than that, considering how much I did on it today and the fact that I could easily have plugged it in on multiple occasions during that time, I'm relatively satisfied. Although it was humorous that it was at 5% left for the last couple of hours of that. Can't wait to see that bug resolved.
