Root How do I "delete" the bloatware garbage?

I am a first time user in all aspects: first time with T-Mobile, first Android device, blah blah blah.

Anyway, my MT4G is now temp rooted, Shootme works and the free version of Titanium is installed.

So how do I now get the garbage: Rock Band, Asphalt, Yahoo, etc., off my phone? That's all I want to do at this point. I would be lying if I said I felt entirely comfortable monkeying with my phone but there's so much junk on here, it's ridiculous.

Thanks in advance for any help. And happy New Year.

if you open a file manager program

Go into system tab
then Apps

then you should see the list of all the apps on the phone, you can change their file extension at the end from .APK to .AKP- This should disable them from running without deleting them
I dont know if this is 100% possible since you only temp rooted but this is what i do with my phone perm rooted

if you download Titanium Backup (Free or Pro) you can back up all your apps after it runs the back up, then you can go back into the app and "uninstall" the apps/bloatware you want to get rid of. it will pull them out of the app drawer and off the phone however you can get them back if needed by restoring them from the Titanium backup app.

Thanks,
I was trying to figure out what to use to get rid of the bloatware and I think Titanium Backup will be my app of choice.

I have one other question - what is the difference between temp root and perm root?

Well, make that 2 questions... in either case (temp root or perm root) and the bloatware is removed, what happens when you shut down the phone (reboot?) and restart it. I am reading that some are having locks and error messages.

Thanks

Temp root only lasts until you reboot. Perm root lasts even if you pull the battery.

Lockups only happen if you delete something you shouldn't. Realistically if you want to delete bloatware and stay on stock rooted rom, you're better off just installing Iced Glacier because it's exactly that.

Stock rooted ROM with bloatware removed.

I second that with Phateless, as I stated before Anges.

I suggest you forget about removing boltware and go down to XDA and download Ice Glacier 1.1.6 as you are already rooted just download and install Rom Manager and flash it and then reboot in recovery then install the rom.zip from SDCard. You will thank me in long run as stock ROM is BS and no way compares to superior stock stripped rom like IG1.1.6 if you need any help let me know.

Removed everything by using root exlorer but everything was reinstalled after rebooting the phone.
What should i do now??

I posted the answer to this just two posts above yours. You should get in the habit of searching and reading threads before posting, as many questions are asked over and over and over again.

PERM ROOT is required to remove bloatware.
