OFFICIAL: All things Cupcake Thread

Use this thread to post in as soon as you get the highly anticipated cupcake update.
Leave your location, when you got the update and any thoughts you have in regards to cupcake.

I seriously just made myself hungry for a cupcake after posting that pic.

In the upper right of this thread, is a link called "Thread Tools" click on it and then click subscribe. I don't need email notification that people don't have Cupcake because they want to be notified when people do eventually get it.

(and FYI I was subscribed without posting and that's how I saw this in the first place. It's a great tool to lurk in threads and just learn.)

This is some of the last postings from google and blog:

This all so wrong — NOBODY is holding up OTAs for Cupcake, because Cupcake is STILL PRE-ALPHA. It is the name of the code line that is currently in development in the open-source repository, but it is not yet even feature complete. There have been no announcements about it being released, the only announcement was about putting the code in the open-source repository for public work to happen on it and the major features being done there.
It is extremely unlikely for any “Cupcake elements” to be pulled back into some early release, because since Cupcake is not feature compete, these features ARE NOT COMPLETE!
I don’t know where you got your information from, but in the future you might want to be a lot more skeptical about whatever you hear from this person. This is all just a mish-mash of half-truths and no truth at all.

@Dianne Hackborn,
Its difficult to argue with you as from what I understand you are part of the Google Android team.
I noted your and Mark Murphy’s concerns in the post previous to this, but reports from HTC state Cupcake elements are ready for the G1 and only relies on T-Mobile porting & distributing it.
Can you publicly present FACTS especially counter to what T-Mobile support & internal communications are stating???
Thank you for your insight

Ofcourse, we have to just assume that was posted by the real Dianne Hackborn but never the less it has me really doubting there will be cupcake ota this month. There is more to the post at

Hope I'm wrong

The builds are available almost daily, you can try them out if you want to root ;) I'll make a video later for you guys to salivate over
I don't have the cahones to try to root. Too worried about bricking or warranty voiding.

I think that Google should hook up all the mods, admins, and other staff at AF with a dev phone. It would let us be able to help the users here more. :p

Rob, Phases, get on that!
