Let's have a little fun here....:p

what are your favorite, most useful Android apps for the G1?

Also, I am sure there are many business travelers out there who use the G1, I am in the corporate meetings and travel industry and would be very interested in hearing what you folks use and feel are useful apps while traveling?

Peace,

i think that the market offers some great apps for the g1 users and my personal favorites are

ShopSavvy
this has saved me loads of money with the things that ive scanned with it

Snap Photo
this is a better version of the camera and i would recommend this 100% over the old camera

Chomp Sms
its a texting app that uses a touch screen portrait or landscape keyboard with the accelerometer or just slide it out and use your other keyboard

Spreadsheet
you said that u wanted a buissnees app well you can work on and look a spreadsheets with this app however it does need a lot of work but its a great idea

Fbook
this is the facebook app it works well however it has no chat

Power Manager
this is probably the best app to get because it turns off certain things when ur not using them this definatley saves a lot of battery time

Shazam
this is a great app that listens to a song and tells you what it is and u can tag it and save it for later to look up

Opera mini
this is a great web app its a lot faster and it is full html but wen u type in certain websites it recommends the mobile versions of them but u can easily work around that and not take the reccomendations

Save MMS
this is a great app that does what it says it lets u save MMS messages that are sent to you

Video Player
this lets u play videos in many formats that you can put on ur g1 or that can be sent to u through MMS

Ringdroid
this is an awesome app that lets you record audio and edit it and put it as your ringtone or it lets u edit parts of songs that are on your fone and set them as your ringtone

PicSay
this is a great pic editing app it has a lot of options and i love it

hope those apps help you out!

In alphabetical order, I hate rating things in order of "best-ness"

Android VNC
Everyone has a PC in my house (me, my wife and my children) and I am always being asked to "fix" something quickly, either provide an admin password or find a missing file. Having VNC on my phone means I can fix things if Im busy in the kitchen or studying.

Astrid
This is my main TODO list, I have a lot of deadlines at work. Code needs to be committed to the trunk, or branched by certain times to maintain a tight release schedule. This has got me out of many tight spots, my brain doesnt function like a clock but this app does everything I need where time is essential. It also keeps track of how long I spend on certain projects.

Astro
Essential for moving files around my SD card, backing up apps and installing apps not found on the market

Handy calc
Great for unit convesion, and solves equations for me quicker than I can manage with a pen and pencil. A great all round calculator. Shame it hasnt got base conversion on the main calculator front end.

OI Shopping list
Essential whenever I am sent out to get shopping, I remember most things but there is something I always end up forgetting. I take my G1 everywhere, and now I never forget any item I am send out to find.

Qype radar
I travel a lot with work, and the last thing I want to do when I have got back to my hotel room is ask for the best place to eat or drink, especially when Im in a country where language is an issue. Qype will tell me the nearest places and gives reviews if available, I dont use it a lot but when I do Im thankful I havent unknowingly walked into somewhere dodgy.

Ringdroid
I hate other peoples ring tones, I know the ring tone I want but its embedded half way through a song. With ringdroid I can cut out the bit I want to use, and add it as a ring tone. Perfect!

Shop savvy
Everyone loves this, it has saved me a pretty penny on many occasions.

Slovo ed
It takes up a lot of memory, its a dictionary but one of the best dictionaries I have seen on the G1. I can use it when I have no signal which is what makes it ideal for me, there is another dictionary that uses the SD card for its storage but doesnt seem as refined as this one.

Useful switchers
Probably the most used icon on my desktop, I can start/stop services with this. Turn on bluetooth when Im driving, turn it off when I stop. All those useful things do help save battery in one single app.

I don't have ten, but I do have a few that haven't been mentioned.

LOCALE -- Wonderful wonderful. I have it silence my phone and turn down the screen brightness when I go to work/rehearsal. Those are based on appointments on my calendar. At night, Locale turns my ringer down so I don't have to worry about phonecalls while I sleep! You can change settings based on calendar events, contact calling, time & day, battery status, and even location. The only caveat is that if your phone looses location information, even for a minute, Locale reacts accordingly, switching you to defaults. It is nice, though, because the situations I have set up usually have WiFi turned off, so if I forget to turn it off myself, Locale will turn it off when the situation change happens.

ASETTINGS -- Simple, easy, one-page settings toggle.

MEMORYFORLEMMINGS -- When my G1 seems to be slowing down I just run this app real quick and everything is back up to speed again. Simple, free, legit.

WEATHERBUG -- Great UI and more information than you actually need, but comes in very handy. Especially like how it will show you video feeds from a camera nearby so that you can actually see what the weather is like before you go out into it.

ABLOGGER -- App that connects to blogger, way easier than trying to use the web-browser. Needs some improvements, but it's in it's pre-release stage right now, for testing and feedback, so there are definite plans to improve it.

OBAMA -- I voted for him, so it's nice to be able to keep track of what he's up to with this app.

ANYCUT, BETTERBOOKMARKS, BOOKMARKS2 -- Separately they provide extra functionality, but together they make a nice little suite for customizing your home screen with web (and other) links.

AK Notepad - Great extended note pad.

aSettings - One-stop to turn off/on features.

Password Safe - Save all my passwords, encrypted, in one place that is always with me.

K-9 - Seems to be a bit better than the normal email app.

Video player - to you know, play videos. :)

Exact Call Log - to know WHEN the calls came in/went out.

My Collection - Scan in books, DVDs, and Games. Very cool.

SnapPhoto - Great replacement for the camera app.

Twidroid - Great app for tracking twitter.

Gmote - Remote control music/stream music from my PC. Nice app.

I've looked for this in the market and can't find it...is it an "out of market" app?
