Android Apps

A SyncML client, allowing Calendar & Contacts, and maybe Notes and Bookmarks to be synched with SyncML servers such as mobical.net. Useful for those of us with a backup Sony Ericsson phone that supports SyncML (and has done for years) or those who prefer not to keep all their information inside the googleplex :)

1. A theremin app that uses accelerometer and compass as well as finger input. I really miss this app from my windows mobile days: Pocket Clanger Theremin v1.02 freeware for Windows Mobile Pocket PC.

2. A parabolic ear / stethoscope app. The fruity phone has one of these and it's saving lives!!!:
59p stethoscope on iPhone proves a hit - News, Gadgets & Tech - The Independent

3. A speed reader, using Rapid Serial Visual Presentation to speed read text:

spreeder.com - Free online speed reading application

Good luck with your coding!

what about games guys? there seems to be a lack of good games for the android. I mean you look at the iphone and there are tons of games. Some of them can have simple flash style (cartoon type) graphics..but we seem to be lacking in the android world.

Im up for making games too..although id need someone else to take care of the graphics.

Games are a must...only decent aspect of the iPhone is the games / graphics..

Something like GTA style game / Football game

Google Maps with compass mode (ability to move map when you move)
Google Earth with compass mode (ability to move map when you move)

A music / video player with Audio settings (E.g. Bass / Treble / Equalisers..if this is at all possible)

many thanks.

If only you lived nearby. I'd be all for colaberating with you to make a nice game engine. A 3D space sim would certainly possible, maybe something like Freelancer (a truly great game).

I tell you what would a fantastic thing to do... Audible haven't got support for Android phones. I know there are many, many people out there who would like to be able to listen to their audiobooks on their phones rather than carrying an mp3 player as well! You could write an app which will let us play our books.

I'm sure if you did a bit of 'reverse engineering' on an existing app, you work out how it works and write one for Android pretty quickly. They're not that large. They're just file handlers, I think.

Actually theres no reason why we could not work remotely. Its harder but doable :)

I also thought about a welcome screen type app like the black berries as well (actually the one on my old sony ericsson w960i is nicer i think), or an app which allows you to store/syn all your contacts, calendar events, emails, notes etc all in one package with text to speech capabilities and some AI thrown into it as well..kinda likea virtual secretary type thing..just a thought..
