I'm all for them tinkering with it, but there's no notification on sprint's or samsung's website about the release. Just an update via studio that could've gone live by accident. Not one person has bothered to follow up with sprint or samsung about it. They just whined incessantly on twitter and the forum. And they continue complaining they keep bricking phones. Well if you're going to try and breakdown the MR and apply it, then it should be reasonable to expect you might brick a phone or two.
One guy was pretty reasonable about it over there and has broken it down to where a couple of the files have made the phone more stable, and some other small improvement that I can't recall off the top of my head.
They also complain about samsung in general and their poor support and bug riddled phones and updates. Don't think anyone forced them to ne repeat customers. Isn't the definition of insanity doing the same thing over and over again but expecting different results?
In my younger days I had the time and patience to deal with custom roms and such. I just don't care anymore. Don't have the time and can't afford the downtime if things go awry. So more power to them for their efforts which I did applaud over at that forum. Just the whining and overreaction to it like this is the official MR is a bit premature considering there was zero confirmation of its release, and wan't it mentione it would also be OTA? Don't believe it was ever mentioned we'd need to install studio to make it happen especially when many if not most have no need to install the program in the first place.
