@suhel:

Nope, i just have a lot of patience and will ;). And let's not forget about the help you gave us.

@blitz:

Yes. And remember that nothing from your former card is important. It creates it's necessary files by itself. Only copy music, pictures an whatever you know is important.

The ext2 partition you won't be able to see in windows. It's ok.

How about 5 min anwer? :)

PS.Suhel, thats the same for me! My first android forum right after I got this X8!
Also I must say that its really a better community than the XDA one.
Even though the devs are all over there cooking roms and all,

help!

after enabling jit, the phone reboots for a like forever....but it rebooted!

but after disabling jit (i followed the instruction), the phone froze!!!! it's just in the sony ericsson white logo!

what shall i do? please help!!!!1

You might have done something wrong. best solution - Flash your phone using Bi4ary flasher to 1.6 or by using SEUS.

After Rooting your phone, install Xrecovery and backup your device before you proceed to install JIT or app2sd.

bout xrecovery: sorry for these beginner's questions:

1. where can i find root explorer, in the market?
2. how do you "remount /system rw"?
3. how do you do this: "#1 USE THE BUSYBOX VERSION AVAILABLE IN THE ZIP FILE, OTHER THAN THAT IT WONT WORK
#2 AFTER YOU COPY THOSE THREE FILES YOU NEED TO SET PERMISSIONS

THE METHOD TO DO THAT IS
-> TAP & HOLD THE FILES INDIVIDUALLY ONE BY ONE AND CHOOSE PERMISSIONS AND TICK ALL THE OPTIONS OVER THERE

"

thanks for all the patience....

edit: got it already! working perfectly! my remaining problem now is jit.....since my phone froze the first time i try to jit it, i had to reflash! now im having second thoughts of continuing with the jit....

since i was able to backup successfully using xrecovery, if my jit attempt fails again, can i restore the previous state of my phone without reflashing?

1. Root explorer is a paid application in the market. There are some sites where you can download them for free but i will not recommend them until you or your parents doesn't have a credit card or paid applications isn't available in your country(you are from Philippines right?) .

2. If u use root explorer, "mount RW or RO" option will be at the top of the application itself.3. After mounting system/bin folder as RW copy those three files to system/bin.. Another busybox version will already be there in system/bin u need to replace it with the busybox version wic comes with this package. YOU JUST HAVE TO COPY AND REPLACE THE FILES.

Regarding JIT - if u want JIT, enable it. if u dont want them, disable it ;)

I know this sounds stupid, but just a clarification: in the tutorial, jit should be enabled and disabled afterwards? does it mean that it's good for one time execution and everything goes well already? or should it be kept enabled forever to enjoy its benefits?

thanks for patiently answering.....

Nothing like that.. Just enable JIT and leave it that way. In the future if u feel u dont want JIT then open cmd and type those disable codes. :D

successfully jit'd my phone! got quadrant score of 521 (way better than 460+ before jit was installed!).........my mistake before was i disabled jit (i thought it was part of the process...lol) that's why my phone froze at the SE logo (but it really froze after disabling jit....many those at xda expreienced the same....maybe there's a bug somewhere there?)

thanks lokesh for patiently answering my queries!

i have a question about the add ons, should i install all the add ons on you post? or i can select which one i need?

i just rooted x8 with the latest super 1 click on your thread, super user is installed

i tried to skip xrecovery and apps2sd and tried JiT first but i cant make it work.

i did this
run > cmd > cd c:\
c:\ adb pull /system/build.prop build.prop - but error it is not recognized as an internal or external command, operable command or batch file

i must not skip xrecovery > app2sd > before jit?

noob here :(

you have to make sure you have the android SDK tool installed...that has the adb shell file in the same directory that you want to use it.

I think I found a bug...somewhere with these addons...you must have your SD card inside your phone in order for your phone to boot...is it because Jit enabling has to be done on the SD card?

did you type c:\ before adb pull???

is there any prerequisite programs before doing this JiT? just what imp said? i don't have the SDK tool yet installed, is this thing got to do something?

so what i did was run > type cmd > im in command prompt now > cd c:\ to return to c:

c:\adb pull /system/build.prop build.prop

then error message appear "adb is not recognized as an internal or external command, operable command or batch file"

if you've downloaded the super one click thing you will notice three files in it

AdbWinUsbApi.dll
AdbWinApi.dll
adb.exe

copy all of them in a new folder say "adb" and place it anywhere say you placed it in c:\

now go to cmd

cd c:\adb

adb pull /system/build.prop build.prop

i hope this works :)
