So Ive called rogers and spoke to a few different departments and they havent said anything yet on new phones for 2011,not even for the first quarter yet.

There has just been speculations of the HTC Glacier and a few others from what Ive read online.

It would be great if other could post new info on 2011 phones that will be available here :)

I hate this Magic now,but I just got on a sweet retention plan for $68/month.
Ill be sticking around with Rogers for a bit !

So please post any valid links or USEFUL information here !

I know it's not exactly what you want to hear, but relevant and interesting none-the-less...

CES Day 1

Bell announces they will carry Motorola Atrix
Bell states the Motorola Atrix is "Coming Soon".. puts up pre-registration page | MobileSyrup.com

HTC web site lets slip that Telus will have HTC Desire HD (aka HTC Inspire 4G).
TELUS Desire HD gets unofficially confirmed by HTC | MobileSyrup.com

Rogers announces.... that they have people from the "Connected" magazine walking the floor (maybe to see what the competition will have?)
Gadgetopia: Connected Rogers Magazine Live @ CES | Rogers RedBoard

I've messaged RogersMary on Twitter, but of course I got the usual "no comment" reply.

Well, like I said above, Bell is getting the Moto Atrix, telus will get the HTC Inspire, and Rogers hasn't had an HTC Android device since the Magic, so... that really only leaves Acer and Sony.

Rogers is the only big carrier here not yet to announce (or have revealed) a new device, so it might be likely that the Arc will be a Rogers device.

I've asked RogersMary and RogersRob, and I get the usual "We can't comment" lines from them.

I still do not see a good enough reason to upgrade my HTC Magic. I am using Cyanogen (Froyo) rom and it works fabulously for all my essential apps. I use the Cardiotrainer, GPS/nav, Gmail, Google Voice, Sling, etc etc. It works great! I believe the next "deal breaker" needs to be long battery life and anyone thinking of buying an Android device must make sure it will be a true google phone like the Nexus One so you do not have to worry about updates.

Are you having any issues with the radio signal while using Cyanogen?
I loved the functionality of Cyanogen ROMs but because of constant signal loss issues I switched to the ROMs supporting new radio. The signal problem went away but now I have a dysfunctional camera and lost all the cutting-edge things of Cyanogen.

I'm pretty disappointed (again) with Rogers and their "offering". Given what X10 owners went through to get an update, and lack of support from Sony, I'd likely stay away from the Sony devices. Also, what is it with Rogers and their aversion to devices with physical keyboards? My wife has a Dream, and she loves having a keyboard. She'll need a new phone soon, and won't get one without a keyboard.

I've been saving up money since my birthday last year, and will be looking at buying either the HTC Desire HD from telus (NO contract) or the Motorola Atrix (NO contract) from bell and unlocking. I _definiately_ won't be extending my contract with Rogers again just to get another phone. As soon as my contract is up in 2012 I will be using my Free Agent status as leverage to get a better deal from R.

I'm looking into the Atrix or the Nexus S...if the 'AT&T' model ever comes out and comes to Canada :/ But I just feel that the Nexus S is outdated now :/ It didn't feel like this when the AT&T Nexus One came out in March 2010. So I was wondering if buying Bell's phone and getting it unlock means we are dependent on Bell for updates? Does unlocking the phone affects getting OTA updates? I think Bell has a better track record than Rogers?
