This would be a bad idea IMO. I like to see what specific changes were made to the app before I go ahead with the update. What if the developer releases an update that you don't want, but you go ahead and update the app? Beautiful Widgets is a good example.
maybe a check list option. However, if you went about it this way the apps would have to install one at a time even if you said "update all" slowing down everything else on your phone. So, update what you want NOW, right now. And then when your not busy, update the rest. Besides its unlikely you will have more then 3-4 apps to update at a time.
I was also thinking of the separate "update-list" idea. With the current system, it seems once you ignore/clear an update, I believe it gets lost until the next update reminder, or you have to locate your app in the market and see if an update is available. Maybe someone is able to create such a list.
just go to the market and hit menu>downloads. you will see all the available updates there.
Thats what i do. I often dismiss all my updates as soon as they come in and wait to do them till right before I go to bed cause I won't be using my phone for anything else. Sometimes my updates lag or pause for some reason so I don't update when Im out and about.
So as he said, when in the market press the four line button (menu) and click downloads.
i have a ton of apps loaded and i actually enjoy the 60-90 seconds a day i devote to updating my apps. i look forward to checking to see what all has been updated.
I agree. I love seeing that update icon in the notification bar.
Automatic updates might not always be desireable like with the recent overhaul of Beautiful Widgets, alot of people would have been pissed if it overwrote the HTC style without being able to back it up first.
An "Update all" button or checklist is what I'm looking for, not automatic updates that download and install without warning whenever one is detected. I don't see any reason this shouldn't already be a feature of Android...

The reason you don't and can not have an "Update All" button or "Checklist" is simply because almost every APP is made by a different individual (s) addressing different issues with each APP. That is why it is not a feature within Android, outside of our OS Android doesn't make many of the APPs in the Market, they are all third party APPS.
What does this have to do with anything?
The fact is MOST people will install all of the updates showing as having any .. one .. after .. the .. frustrating .. next.
An update all button / check box would be the perfect solution for users. Just because the apps are from different individuals doesn't mean this isn't feasable/better.

You don't have to wait for one update to completely install before starting the next update. I have had at least five updates installing at once before. It is alot faster than one at a time.
Yes I agree with you, my posts was for people who didn't know that you could update more than 1 app at a time.Yah but each update takes 3 button presses. So if you have 5 app updates, 5x3 = 15 button presses that could be eliminated with just 1 - 3 total.
Don't really need an "auto update", but an "update all" would be nice.
