[RELEASED] The 4.3 inch "Thunderbolt" aka "Mecha" aka "Incredible HD" from HTC...beyond coming soon!

HTC ThunderBolt? at Verizon

Received this link in an email from HTC

Yeah me too, specs are up too...

So the pre-installed 32GB MicroSD card is true, wow that is huge + 8GB on-board, I think I'm going to get this phone for real now.

Edit: Sorry, just saw you posted the specs. Also, I'm sure you guys know, but since we're listing the specs the screen is SLCD, it was mentioned during the Verizon press event today, but for some reason it isn't listed in the specs anywhere...

wow really 1400mah battery? that will last about a whole 4 hrs smh

You know this because you're a dev and have been playing with one right?

If you don't want to buy one, fine, but do you HAVE to try and throw cold water on everyone else who seems to like it at every turn?

If this phone doesn't have the omglolspecs! that you want or were expecting then wait to get one that does. You have that right, just as we do to want to buy this one.

Oh, no, that's not it. You pulled that # out of thin air because you've been hating on this device sight unseen and without cause. If you don't want to buy one, fine, but do you HAVE to try and throw cold water on everyone else who seems to like it at every turn?

Look idc about omglolspecs all i ask for is some better battery life. And actually i plan to get the phone so get off your high horse and relax damn i forgot nobody can voice their opinions about the phone you are like the iphone fanboys still sucking on the apple teet and wont admit when certain things need to be worked on. smh

If you're planning on getting it, then great, we should have something to talk about. I just haven't seen you post much positive about it. You're entitled to your opinion, as am I. Let's not resort to name calling or insults.

Phonescoop has a hands-on of the Thunderbolt. So far their's seems to be the most indepth hands on. They also did ones for the LG Revolution & the non named Samsung (no Bionic hands-on as of yet).

What I'm taking away from this is the Revolution sounds to be the biggest of the four, the Moto and the LG have dual core cpus, Moto has the biggest battery, and all have hdmi out except for the HTC. All 4 4G phones will be skinned (Sense, Blur, Touchwiz, LGs skin). Also the majority of the hands-on I have read say the Thunderbolt has the best build quality (soft covered metal) and is the most finished.

I am still a lil on the fence about either the DTB or the DB. Mainly if I can deal with blur over sense. I don't root and can't really get into launcherpro or adw, so I would be stuck with blur if I went with the DB.

Here's the links:

I wouldn't complain about the battery until we know what the actual battery life is like. Everyone always complains about the Incredible's battery life yet for some reason I get really good battery life, more than a day if I don't use the phone a lot. Must we all be so negative around here? Can we stop and realize how generous they are for throwing in a free 32GB MicroSD card (~$100 value)?

this phone was a huge let down for me. i wasn't expecting a dual core but even the months old droid global has a 1.2 gig processor! jeez!
i will be keeping my x untill the bionic drops.

It's not all about the gigahertz. This is the second gen snapdragon which greatly improves the GPU and is more power efficient at 45nm (vs 65nm for 1st gen). I'm pretty sure it gets better quadrant scores than the Droid 2 Global, one report showed I think it was a 1926 quadrant score completely stock, and that's not even final software.

Sorry about that, that was from either engadget or bgr.

Same with saying the Moto had the biggest battery. I read somewhere it was a 1930mAh, but that was last night and I can't remember where I read that at. Too many tech blogs in a short timespan!:p

Edit: I read that about the Moto's battery in the Bionic section here on the forums.

Thank you vzwuser76!

Those vid's were great and for now I am on the TB's side. I actually caught myself laughing a bit on the Samsung demo vid. HTC seems to have everything together which is why I guess so many people were waiting for this release! Looking forward to the massive upgrade I will be getting when it is released..(LG Dare to HTC Thunderbolt!)

Woot!

I just read a hands-on on cnet's site and they have the dimensions 4.8 x 2.6 x .5 and 5.78 oz. Every review says the phone feels heavy, but I just looked and the Evo is actually heavier (6 oz.), but both have the same physical dimensions. So cases will work but not a desktop cradle (Evos charge port is on the bottom).

No video yet on cnet's hands on but it is pending. The hands-on was done by Bonnie Cha, the same reviewer who gave the Incredible the Editor's Choice.
