Call volume was fixed in Android 2.1 [I see you're from Seattle, so I'm assuming your still stuck on 1.6 with AT&T]

But nonetheless, I want this phone. like Now.

not true, i updated my x10 to 2.1, yet i have not noticed any difference nor anyone who updated to 2.1 has verified this has been the case. i read the section xperia x10. can you show me something to validate your statement?

Sorry. I may be wrong. I thought it was fixed in 2.1. I don't have any difficulty when talking on the phone compared to 1.6.

Is there really much of a difference between the X10 and the Arc?

I mean, they look really similar.

According to this:
Compare Sony Ericsson Xperia Arc and Sony Ericsson Xperia X10 mobile phones
They have rather similar specs, arc being sligtly better.

And the arc will have honeycomb and froyo.

But is it really that much of a step up from the x10?

I'll be buying an x10 in a few days. The x10 was 1000 when it came out here, I don't see the point is paying that much for something only slightly better.

I upgrade every two years, I won't bother buying an Arc.

Just my opinion.

this phone looks amazing.
i said i wouldnt buy another SE after the length of time they take to do updates on the X10 but i know that i havent seen anything else out there thats better.
I haven't seen anything else out there that is better than the X10 either.

As much as the Atrix has amazing specs, I am afraid it will be stuck at 2.2 for a very long time. The Arc being launched with 2.3 is a major plus.

I will be very interested in the Arc and as a minimum will wait on the release of it before making a decision on the Atrix.

No I am not kidding. I have had it since August and not had any issues with it other than the upgrade fiasco. The call quality is excellent, the GPS works, the 2.1 has streamlined and made everything smoother and faster.

May I ask if you own one and in what respect do you find it a "massive suck". :):)

I messed with my friends constantly. No multitouch is lame. The ram is not good and there UI is a bit ehh although their camera is outstanding and the 2.1 works flawless

I will agree with all the positives you said and disagree with the negatives. I will give you the multi touch although I didn't care for it on the Captivate.

I guess we will just have to agree to disagree. ;)
