[RELEASED] The 4.3 inch "Thunderbolt" aka "Mecha" aka "Incredible HD" from HTC...beyond coming soon!

Sorry about that, that was from either engadget or bgr.

Same with saying the Moto had the biggest battery. I read somewhere it was a 1930mAh, but that was last night and I can't remember where I read that at. Too many tech blogs in a short timespan!:p

Edit: I read that about the Moto's battery in the Bionic section here on the forums.
The Atrix is the one with that battery.

I think I am going to hold off until after spring to see whats new. I really like my DINC. It fits in my pocket, or coat, or hand easily. The larger screen phones do not. I could not wear levis with this phone in my pocket it wouldnt fit. And really I want to see a drastic change in phone like dual cpus greatly improved performance and more things it can do and an easier way to interface with my home media system.

You know, with HTC not even bothering to step up their game with a better proccessor or screen like both Motorola and Samsung, you'd think they'd at least step up the biggest weak link of both the Incredible and the Evo.....the battery. However, after the many, many complaints about poor battery life, they offer you a 1400mah battery......the same size or actually worse than the previous ones. Motorola on the other hand, gets it. They offer a friggin' 1930 mah battery! Its as if HTC didn't really care IMO.

You realize the Thunderbolt is using a more efficient CPU than the Evo. How dramatic an affect this will have on battery life is left to be seen.

You are absolutely right, but I tell you, using the same battery, from devices well known for insufficient battery life is not reassuring at all. But, yeah, to be fair, we should wait. I'd much prefer them also include a better battery like Moto did. One thing I can say about Moto, is that just based on specs alone, you can see that they put effort into making a top notch Next Generation device.

Is the Thunderbolt screen the exact same screen as the EVO ?

I've been looking around and all I see is WVGA on both of them . My roomate has an EVO and while I love the size and form his screen is disapointing sitting next to my Incredible

I was also hoping it would have an EVO battery so I could keep my extras and my external charger but it looks like it's a Nexus One battery

ohh and on the note of no HDMI the phone has can stream wirelesss your video and photos DLNA. Which I'll admit I have not idea what that means lol

all this raving about the dual core will probably be irrelevant. the video of the moto device isn't impressive at all and it seems to function just as fast as the single core phones.

and i've never been left wishing for more speed or smoothness from my incredible. you guys are acting like the phones we have right now are slow.

also while the moto has higher specs, which imo are only good for bench racing and not real world feel, it also has a locked bootloader which is a non starter for me.

after all we've seen so far i'm most interested in the TB due to what i know and like about my current phone, the newer version of sense, larger SLCD screen, and 4g! this phone seems like it will be better than the incredible without a doubt. the battery life isn't even a concern for me.

also, i'm starting to think dual core processors won't be able to make much on an impact until sw is optimized for it. and that may be a year off...

NVIDIA shows us Tegra 2 gameplay on Atrix 4G and Optimus 2X (video) -- Engadget

Motos phone is unfinished, hence it seemed "slow". It may actually NOT have a locked bootloader (not like it really matters anyway). I really don't understand why anyone is still trying to act like dual cores are no good, or that this phone is somehow better than any phone that has significantly better specs and features. Get over it. This phone lacks much to be desired, simply because its going to Verizon and has Sense. Congratulations to all of you who celebrate mediocrity, i dont. Btw, I get 1800 quadrant scores on my incredible.

no one is saying dual cores aren't good. what I'M saying is that the current phones are plenty fast and the TB will include and even faster processor than what we have right now in the incredible. and that's without root or any additional optimization.

if you like a phone simply because it has a "dual core" that doesn't provide much, if any, real world performance benefit over a single core phone then good for you.

and i couldn't care less about benchmarks, get over it.

Not anymore. And ill promise once the rest of the phones are released soon after thunderbolt, youll prolly wish you didnt as well.

Okay. I have money to blow and want larger screen, kickstand, new sense, and I hate Moto phones and blur. (but will consider - no I am - getting a Xoom) :D

To ALL:

There is no need to keep piling on how much you think this phone is a POS. We get it. I have no issue with someone posting info that is constructive or criticizes (just not over and over and over). People want this phone, could careless that it is not dual core, Bionic is better etc etc.

People in this thread are becoming "troll" like. It will not be tolerated.

There is potential that dual core will actually make batt life better to my understanding. Because the distribution of power is better managed then a single core. c/d? That the main reason I was looking forward to dual core phones.. as well as lasting appeal.. but SPEED is not really an issue yet.
