It was end of October, then November, now December. I am sick of being left in the dust with updates from Samsung and Sprint. People with other providers have had 2.2 for MONTHS! 2.2 is going to be old news by the time we get it. Not sure if it is Sprints fault or Samsung.

I hate to say it, but yes. Samsung has left us in the dust... MOMENTARILY. Try to remember guys, the Transform is a mid-range phone, and Samsung is busy making sure that the Galaxy S series has 2.2 because of them being high-end smartphones they get the priority. We have been pushed back, but by January I'm pretty sure we'll have it unless Samsung wants to pay us a nice christmas present of FroYo. (Too bad we can't get something more seasoned like Gingerbread :l)
Samsung is pretty much the last phone maker that has not gotten Froyo going...yeah the version for the Galaxy S went bad so they pulled froyo...and have not rolled it out yet for the Galaxy S....we most likely won't see it till the Galaxy version works better....
I really think they need to come on with this shit already lol like i want it super bad. I have a website with an official 2.2 firmware for rooted transform phones but i dont wanna root my phone and mess up my warranty because the phone is BRAND NEW. So sprint and samsung need to hurry up lol
I have an Epic, which was released long before the Transform. It still does not have official Froyo. You will likely see leaked versions long before the official. When it happens, that will be your best bet to get on 2.2.

Not sure how much it will help (if at all) but it's worth going to this thread in the official Sprint forum and making some noise to ask for the update. It might help Sprint see that there are plenty of us who really want the update soon. Sprint ID:Android 2.2 for the Samsung Transform

I just contacted sprint and they stated that there is a delay on the Samsung transform 2.2 update due to some technical issues and that there is no date to when it will get an update. But will get in the near future. Sprint is something else
I just called sprint again today and they stated that if you really need android 2.2 on your phone you can take it to a sprint repair office and they can put the update on there but there is no over the air updates yet for consumers. Which sounds weird to me. Please let me know if you hear anything different.
I just spoke with the sprint repair store in my neighborhood and it was confirmed that they are doing the android 2.2 update on the transform but you have to bring into the store. That the update was too big to release over the air at this time. So please give them a call. I am going to take to the sprint repair store today they are open till 6pm, I hope this helps all my Samsung transform friends. I was giving up on getting this update.
I am so very upset just came from the sprint store where they stated there was an update for my transform phone so rushed up there to come find out that there is no updates available for that phone. So sorry to everyone for there misleading me and us!
Thank you captain optimistic...... Anyway, 2.2 is going to be released within atleast 3 months give-or-take... But honestly, I don't know who's fault it is at this point, the carriers, or Samsung, I just don't care anymore I'm gonna be patient about this update, its hard enough screwing around with my sister's Optimus S, she's 18... doesn't understand everything on it... So I gotta be tortured with her 2.2 Android glaring me in the face with its faster speeds and better looking interface. Believe me I'm anxious as the next guy, but we still have to wait, so we may as well try to keep our cool these next 3 months.

Meh, its already past Sprint's expected deadline, we'll get FroYo soon enough, and if we don't get it by March, I'm simply going to try to get hold of Google and request that we get stock 2.2, just like the Intercept.

boycott samsung for bad customer service.
sprint what are you doing? if i am hired to upgrade the siding on a house, and the new siding doesn't show up the i loose a customer cause everyone else on the block got upgraded, is it my fault? No, but it is my responsibility to compensate, and hope that the company responsible will repay me, Or expect a to get a hassle.
i say patition record your calls with your carrier and hardware provider, and post upload them. Let them know we are not kidding. Let them know we don't like lies, we will not take it. we expect to be valued as customer's. what i had to deal with
this past month is an outrage. sprint you dress in suit's and demand our money for your service. You need to protect your customer's from your supplier's false promises. P.s. happy with the phone not with the vender. Get some damn PR.
Samsung should be dropped as a carrier for lack of customer value.
I agree and i will post any useful information i obtain, But for now i recommend giving a hassle. i mean really! Pose the question to sprint

I don't mean to whine, But you can't expect results if you don't want to speak up. So, Why not ask? Why no compensation? Why are we not being valued as customers? why are we being misinformed, mislead, and lied to?
I mean my hat is off, to the customer service at sprint.
i really am please at there attempts to help, but they can't
tell us what they don't know. However they can set a higher
standard for there hardware provider.
I sent a mildly upset sounding email to Samsung tech support asking what is taking so long with the 2.2 update. This is what they sent me in return:
"Thank you for your inquiry.
As of the moment, Samsung is unable to speculate when/if this software revision might be available due to the fact that this might lead to inaccurate information and confusion.
Should this become available, it will be posted on Samsung website in the Samsung Download Centre."
Fortunately, I'm not a heavy enough smartphone user to really be annoyed by Eclair. It would just be nice to have Froyo and a slightly faster phone.
I did the same exact thing as you and got the EXACT same response, ha guess they don't even bother to read the email, they just got an automatice reply service
