Is anyone else beginning to get worried about the future of the Evo a couple of months from now. Currently there are loads of developers creating amazing stuff right now, especially for the Evo, which is perhaps still the best phone on the market, for now. In a couple of months, with the advent of 4g and phones with dual-core processors, the standard shall be raised, and no longer will the Evo be the alpa dog of phones. What's your intake on this?

Im happy with my evo, and i think this will be the phone that ill keep the longest out of my others lol.
Im sure one day something will come out that id rather have.

My biggest wish for the next ground breaking cellphone invention is improved batteries. Someone needs to make an improvement in battery technology soon, they will make so...much...money.

I'm not "worried", per say. It is a piece of technology and you would be a fool to think that you could make a one time purchase that will remain on the cutting edge for longer than a few months (if that!). If all of the devs stopped today, I would still have tons of stuff that I haven't tried yet, as well as a badass ROM that would keep me quite satisfied with my phone until I am ready to part with a few nickels for an upgrade.

I think the next thing that should come out is HD television on our phones, not sure why I can get HD at my house, but on my phone via sprint TV or Justin.tv it looks kinda crappy...

**OFF TOPIC**

I've never tried it, but how well does Justin.tv work on the Evo? Functional over 4G? 3G? I realize the picture quality probably isn't the greatest, but I would just be interested in being able to watch the Mavs.

It works decent, it's pretty stable on 4g, it can get choppy on 3g, but it's better than nothing for sure

This is why we get new phones every year... Once the dual cores come out, the evo is going to be a thing of the past. Its just how it is. Enjoy your Evo now and don't worry bout it! :)
humm dual core. not sure i want that just yet. atleast not until they improve on batt life. i can barley make 18-20hrs now on my evo. just imagine if it had a dual core. then what a fast-ass phone that needs to be tethered 80% of the time. no thank's the evo is fast enough for me as is. the only orther way to overcome batt life is to put a bigger batt. but then the phone will be too bulky and heavy. so battery technology has to be fixed 1st before we move on to dual cores. jmo:)

I'd say the Evo has enjoyed quite a run...and is still enjoying it. It is unheard of for something that is months old to still be at the top of the heap. And yet, there it is. This phone has such a following that the devs will stay with it for awhile...even after it has obsolesced....is that a word???

The HTC EVO was #3 on a list of most Innovative Products from Good Housekeeping Research Institute year end list. Ahead of the Apple iPad which was at #7.

The EVO was, and still is at the TOP of it's class for Smart Phones. It was the FIRST at everything. HTC just released the HTC EVO Shift 4G, which is a smaller version of the EVO with a QWERTY keyboard, and no Front Camera (more differences though)

I believe we have not seen the last of the EVO. I am pretty sure HTC has something for the EVOers for next year. Maybe, EVO2? Who knows. I know I have no complaints about the EVO (excluding the SENSE UI).

I'm happy with my EVO , just got the newer hardware version one v 4.0 and tried that video benchmark thing, and in the video rooted with no HTC Sence UI it showed they could get 25 FPS, ummm my phones bone stock ,but newer hardware and got 28.5 FPS ...pretty happy

It could be the program you are using to check fps. There are many gaming apps that allow you to display frame rate....flight control is one....which allows you to see frame rate in real time. Maybe check a different tester???

fps2d is in the 50's neocore has never gone above 30fps for me and i've never seen a video/picture of it being above 30 its also 3d graphics so its not 2d.
