Help What am I doing wrong???

I have a serious problem when making calls without a headset, with the phone in my hand. People I call are telling me that they hear a phone number being dialed loudly while I speak to them, as if I am making a call while speaking to them. Today it happened and the person said she had to shout to be heard over this loud noise-which I cant hear!! I must be touching some button or application with my hand or face, but what?

The proximity sensor is suppose to disable the screen when you hold it next to your head. If that isn't happening, get a new one. To see if it's working place a call, hold the phone away from your head so you can see the screen and put your finger on the phone just above the notification bar on the left side. The screen should turn off.

Does it happen every time or just a couple times? My proximity sensor seems to work fine, but I still somehow typed a huge text message with my face while talking with my sister. I didn't realize it until I went to hang up. It may be the way that we are holding the phone. The proximity sensor may not see seeing the side of your face sometimes. I would still take it to Sprint and have them replace it though.

I have found that while you are on a call, if you have the dial pad pulled up, the proximity sensor does not activate. You just need to make sure that you don't have the number pad pulled up, and it will work

Not with mine. I just called my other phone. After it connected I pulled up the dialer and put my thumb over the proximity sensor and it did what's it's suppose to do.
