****To clairfy what IRC is and the purpose. IRC is called Internet Relay Chat. Basically a chatroom. I have set this up to help people that have a problem or need help with something. We usually have more than one person try to assist so its group help. Which also means you would get answers faster. But it's more than just a support chat. It's there for fellow ally or any android based phone owner to come chat and have some fun.
I've already got one setup on freenode. Channel: #ally
webchat for those that do not have IRC clients.
Ally IRC Webchat client
Here's another webclient
wsIrc Ally IRC
Just change the Username to whatever you want and clock login.
Update**
For those of you who have the new Phandroid app. You can connect to the ally irc channel from it. Once your sucessfully connect to the network click menu and press "Join Channel" then add #ally. and click OK. Here's a screenshot.
Hey, Dots, did you notice the battery status icon in the image you posted? Talk about "subliminal messages".
I see the "average age" of some of the members on the chat hasn't changed much since my first encounter with IRC nearly 30 years ago, which was why I never spent much time with it. It is a shame something can't be done to boot those sophomoric punks off the chat permanently. I was really pleased to be able to get the help I did those couple days when I rooted the Ally, but from what I am seeing today I don't know how anyone could carry on an intelligent dialog with all that stuff flying.
Is there a way to block certain members from appearing on the screen?
