kkk... i know so i wanted to make 1 more thread... so what good roms are there?

can u help plz? what is the fastest rom? if i install a fast rom will my games be less laagy??

Fastest 2.1 rom would be LiquidSense with infinite kernel

Fastest 2.2 rom would aospMod 0.9.9.2 but CM6 is a close second

Not much you can do for games like AngryBirds, Hero hardware just isn't powerful enough. Overclocking will help though

My suggestion is that you don't bother with any 2.1 ROMS, unless I'm missing something and they are better overclocked.

If you're a game player and don't want/need a lot of features, stick with AOSP. I just installed it on my phone the other day and I couldn't be happier.

Although, if you like a few features without scanning the Android market, then go with Cyanogen.

There's quite a few roms out there, but in my personal opinion there's only a tiny bit out there worth your time. Hope this helps.

So will putting your Sprint HTC Hero into Airplane Mode. Those advertisements are a killer. :D

But, sadly, andygu3 is right. The Sprint HTC Hero hardware, even overclocked, will struggle a bit with games like Angry Birds. I wonder happened to the "Lite" version of Angry Birds we were supposed to get? Hmm.

Yea, me too!!

Fortunately, if I get that Angry Birds itch I will go play on the wife's EVO:)

I agree with this one. ;) I tried Liquid Sense, CM6, AOSP, and the unstable version of GB, I felt that AOSP was the best ROM for the Hero so far. GB will probably prove to be even better, but I won't flash that for a while. :D

Yeah, I had read about that a few days ago. Apparently, that has been added to the Android 2.3 ROM for the Sprint HTC Hero as well.

Have you done any benchmarks before and after making that tweak? I would love to see how much of an effect it has on the performance.

I hadn't done benchmarks, but many have run neocore and have seen impressive improvements. For me, angry birds runs great---no sluggishness at all---and before the tweak I was experiencing slowdowns and the game was (at times) unplayable. fruit ninja is also running better.

For the installation, just use root explorer and copy/paste it into /system/lib/egl

Why wait on the GB ROM? It's pretty stable as of now and makes the Hero run fantastically. :D
