There is no noticable diference between the 2, but I also couldn't update to it for some strange reason. But I installed X10iUser's Eminence ROM last night and am now on the latest version, along with better stability and speed, and a better look!

Check this out compared to x10 Stock OS...

The update is for selected Regions,It has some minor fixes that you wont really notice. It also makes rooting your phone slightly more difficult, but xda already has that covered.
This is the newest one 2.0.2.A.0.24.,and it still doesnt support multi touch.Im not updating to this, cause I dont see any reason to.I happy with the emience Rom !

Gotcha, my main concern was that some of the new ROMs and beta 2.2 stuff seems to require .24, mind you - there are some mods i have made before i realised this pre-requisite that worked anyway - admittedly they often didn't work too :/

Still learning...!!! And i still want better music control from my x10. I know, want want want...!!!

I wasn't on .24 and I have installed Eminence and FreeX10 2.2 with no problems :)

I hear ya,Im waiting for 2.2 to have all the flaws worked out, then I shall give that bitch a test drive :)

Me too, I gave the froyo rom a test driver today, it's absolutely awesome!! I loved being able to watch BBC Iplayer and watch videos on flash. It's a shame that there's problems with the ROM. Anyway, I have removed it now, and will re-install it when all flaws are fixed :)

+2 I spent pretty much all day yesterday playing with Free X10. I almost cried a little when I switched away, it was so nice. Luckily I went to Eminence, loving it, too. I can't wait for Free X10 to get the camera issues worked out, that's all that's holding me back right now.

BTW, I just flashed and rooted Saturday night, and I can't thank all the folks here and at XDA enough for the time you've taken to help the noobs that came before me. Every time something went pear-shaped, the answer was right at hand in some thread on one site or the other! I have to say, in between steps, when it appears one might have just turned a cheap ($50 upgrade!) phone into an expensive paper weight, it gets a bit nerve-wracking, but in the end, when you get that sweet Quadrant score... Priceless!

Now that camera is working, I re-installed 2.2, and have been using it for 3 days now. It's a shame that I cant record videos, but I rarely did anyway.

The only problems I had was a few reboots on the first day. No problems since :) Getting awesome benchmark at around 1500 - 1700 with quadrant advanced

Thanks to all for advice on this, i had a fun time trying to work it all out, i followed the flashtool instructions on xda to switch to the .24 generic, just to see for myself!!

But, I could not get the firmware step to work (no options when i selected "flash") - THEN realised that i could just flash the ftf file - GENIUS - some very small differences, smoother than .504 stock, different default alerts etc. but on the whole, as mentioned^^, no noticeable difference!!

In honesty, i had deleted my .504 xrec back-up, so then used the flashtool to install that ftf file (seeing as it was soooooo easy!)

you'll never guess what happened next....

I got an OTA update to .24.
