I currently have the Incredible. I love the Incredible, purchased it when it first came out. My only problem with it is I am on my 5th refurbished phone. They have all had a speaker or battery issues. This newest refurb randomly restarts and apps that I've never had a problem with working before force close now. What do you think my chances are of getting Verizon to give me the Thunderbolt when it comes out?

Depends on the CS agent you speak to. I got a BB9630 mid contract due to the POS BB Storm I had.

Im telling you from first hand experience, that just keep trying Verizon will help you out. It might take 10 times of calling back and talking to managers but Verizon has always hooked me up with a deal. They usually give me an upgrade and sign a new two year contract or something like that.

I'm hoping they'll hook me up too. I've come close to throwing my Storm2 out the window a few times in the past week. I can't wait for the TB to be released. I'll be buying 2 (me and wife) as soon as allowed.

My contract isn't up until July but I don't know if I can last that long with this BB. I'd really like to buy this with a 1 yr contract extension. Hopefully they'll be offering an early upgrade to some of us.

Another replacement? They have given me 5 refurbs. All 5 have had a problem. Those numbers are horrible. I'll buy things refurbished, but phones.

I thought after the 3rd replacement they are supposed to offer
you a different device, at least with Env-Touch after my 3rd one
they documented my account, and said if I had more problems
they would exchange for different phone altogether. But my 3rd
phone worked like a charm.

I've never heard of that? Is that in the contract?

Eligible Defective Handset Exchanges
If your phone malfunctions as a result of a manufacturing defect after the return and exchange period but within the first year that you own the phone, Verizon Wireless will either exchange your phone for a like unit or one of comparable quality at no cost to you, or assist you in sending the phone to the manufacturer's authorized repair facility.

If you choose to exchange your phone, the phone you receive may be refurbished equipment. Once you have exchanged your phone, we will not be able to undo the exchange and return your original phone to you. If you have difficulty with the refurbished phone, Verizon Wireless will replace it with another refurbished phone. Refurbished phones will carry the remaining warranty period from the original phone, or 90 days, whichever is greater. Unless you have enrolled in the Extended Warranty or Total Equipment Coverage programs, Verizon Wireless will access a fee for equipment that is replaced due to electrical malfunction or manufacturer defect after the one-year warranty period.

Phones subjected to neglect, misuse, water damage, unreasonable wear and tear, and the like, are not eligible for any return or exchange program. This program does not cover lost or stolen phones. These policies do not limit or supersede any existing manufacturer's warranties.

To me that reads as if they should give me a new model, no questions asked.

Imo the best thing to do is not mention a different phone. Don't let them know you that you know you can get a new phone. Just ask if there are any other options. As far as getting the TB? Lmao i doubt it. If anything you'll get a Droid X at best. The iphone is more comparable to the DInc than the TB. Seeing as the TB has a front camera and 4g not to mention a larger screen.

The iphone is more comparable to the DInc than the TB? Not hardly.
The iphone runs IOS and is an apple phone.
The TB is an HTC phone and is running the same OS and same Version!
The TB DOES have a bigger screen, but it is WAY more comparable to the DInc than the iphone ever will be!

Having said that, I seriously doubt that VZW will upgrade you to the TB from the DInc. They'd probably send you a NEW DInc before they'd even consider sending you a TB.

Sorry, just my 2 cents...

My coworker also has the Incredible. Hers died and Verizon sent her a new phone. The new phone doesn't work either. She's pissed, and I'm worried about going from Moto to HTC for the Thunder based on these experiences....

Did they send her a new phone or a refurb? I'm on my 5th refurb and I've sent them all back.

I don't know. I will try to find out. How can she tell?

When you get the phone in the mail in just has a piece of clear plastic on the front to prevent any damage to the screen and no battery.

And it says something like 100% Certified Refurbished. Which I think it should read 100% Certified To Not Work.

Just be nice, getting pissed off and yelling at the CS rep will get you nowhere. Don't need a sad story, the fact that you've had 5 phones is sad enough lol. Just be polite and if it takes multiple calls, oh well.

Since it requires an exception to be made, being polite and reasonable about the situation will always get you farther then throwing around threats of cancelling or overall rudeness.
