Help Mytouch 4g lockscreen

Okay, well I just got my 4g, so what does the mod do, and what is the sense thing??
Thanks for the reply, by the way.

CyanogenMod is a custom ROM based on AOSP (Android Open Source Project) or vanilla Android like the version of Android on the G2.

Sense UI is HTC's proprietary user interface overlayed on top of Android. In our case we have a "double" overlay because of TMO's Espresso overlay on top of Sense.

So im pretty sure everyone knows about the lame lock screen that says "drag down to unlock".. is there anyway to remove this and just hace the pattern as the lockscreen? Im open to all options, so let me know....

I'll second what dasudevil said. Rooting and flash modding, while a cool thing to do is a bit over the top if all you want is to change the lock screen. If you just got your phone, and you're ok with the current UI minus the lock screen, then go to the market and grab Widget locker. If however when after you've played around with both the phone and Widget Locker and you're just not happy with the way the phone performs, then I implore you to dive into the world of rooting and flashing. It may well change your phone experience if not your life.

Widget locker is nice, sometimes. But i had a lot of issues with it.

- You have to get another app, such as "Nolock" to make sure it skips the original lockscreen altogether. It would flash for 1-2 seconds and then go to the widgetlocker lock screen.

- If you leave your phone in sleep mode for more than an hour or so, the lock screen can be very laggy and not unlock for a little bit.

-It's just not as snappy as the original lockscreen. It takes a second or two to load, which can really begin to bug you.
