save image from message?

Savemms seems to be the way to go. Got the rc33 update this morning. Although I thought there would be a feature to save mms without a 3rd party app...doesnt seem to be. Just tried it out. My gf sent me a pic of her boobs and I couldnt save the image without a 3rd party app. lol

Can anybody save MMS messages without a 3rd party app? I thought there would be a fix for this in rc33. Still cant save mms pics. can anybody else??

What do people have against using a 3rd party app for this? A previous poster said he thought it was really crap that the phone wouldn't do this out of the box, but the solution only takes a few seconds to install. Save MMS takes up less than 94K and works perfecly with a 5 star rating.

People enjoy having things to complain about. If it wasn't this, it would be something else.

What I Did was send a pic to myself at 240xxxxxxx@tmomail.net

Then when mms message arrives I open it viewed it then with the msg open just long-press the screen and select the option "Copy attached to the SD card"

The copied file is saved to \sdcard\download ...

Simple and straight-forward ...

matt and Punk. Im not complaining for the sake of it, [guys]. I read that RC33 would have an option of being able to save MMS messages. Being a fan of the G1, I found that to be exciting. I was using the save MMS app but to me, thats just needless clutter. I couldnt figure it out but, after following jims instuctions with the longpress, it worked like a charm. Thanks, jim!!

[Edit: If you haven't had a chance to read the rules thread yet, give it a once over. Feel free to PM me if you like. Thanks. -Phases]

I was belly aching because its just such a simple feature. Its like a PC not coming with minesweeper. lol. With Android, there is def room for forgiveness...it being so fresh and all. MMS saving really is a basic function and with the most recent OTA, that problem has been solved so imma happy camper. 3rd party apps are awesome add on tools to help the specific needs of an individual. I just fealt that this particular thing was so obviously basic (saving MMS), it needed to come right from the source.
Sry, for being so defensive earlier, guys.

I didn't mean to vent on you either man.... just so sick of seeing all these random posts about the so called "basic apps" that the phone should have installed on first boot drives me nutz man... yes these features are minor and yes they are being added little by little every upgrade but no OS is going to have EVERYTHING that everyone wants thats the whole reason that there are so many different software companies/developers.... To me it makes as much sense as crying about your car needing gas... sorry for venting again.......
