HTC Desire 2

To call it 'Desire 2' after the way the naming has gone since our Desire would be a little odd.

rtb35: And maybe a GPU worth a damn eh? ;) Already starting to see several games we can't play and the phone is barely a few months old. Meanwhile last gen iPhones carry on merrily :(

its nearly a year old

I worry about lack of physical buttons. When the system crashes which I realise is not too often, pressing home or whatever is a fail safe. Also I hope it's not too skinny. Need the batterylife so badly.
you make good points actually
another thing is the track sensor, thats actually handy in text messages and large posts/facebook statuses where you need to go back and correct something. far superior than tapping the screen multiple times to get to the intricate area you need to modify

I would miss the trackpad, I use it quite a lot more than I thought I would.

As for processor speed, I think the most important thing is bits-per-processor-cycle, rather than number of cycles. I read an article recently (can't remember where) about this, and the example they used involved a slower clock speed with higher rate of data traffic, which resulted in the same or lower battery consumption with the same or higher processing power.

Kinda like cars doing 100mph on a 4 lane highway compared to cars only doing 80mph on a 16 lane highway - speed is slower but overall data traffic is faster, and less fuel (battery) used.
