My 'droid v2.1upd has several "keyboards" I cannot find the "arrow" keys.
Instead I must tap-tap strings hoping that the cursor appears close enough to what I want to change.

Where are my "arrow" keys?

My phone is a Samsung "Captivate" Galaxy-S (AT&T). I would welcome suggestions for add-in fantastic keyboards from the Market.

Merci d'avance,

On my Captivate, while in Messaging Mode, I click & hold on the ?123 key to activate the scrolling options.

Tim

This used to work for me but does not work now. Probably played with other keyboards and have lost the one with those features.

For the SWYPE folks. I'm an olde "grafiti" guy and would love to get used to Swyping. Where is a good tutorial? Palm Grafiti had a wonderful tutorial and training app.

Cheers,

What is the dance to active the SWYPE keyboard when I'm ready to try that again?

It took some time, but I finally found the arrow keys.
Apparently, they only exist on the "Samsung Keyeboard."

As mentioned earlier, you press and hold the 123 button and an alternate
set of buttons appears as a pop-up. Viola! the arrow keys and a few others.

I could not discover how to accomplish arrow-key behavior or to display arrow buttons on either the "Android Keyboard" or the "Handcent SMS Keyboard".

Buy a decent keyboard like ULTRA KEYBOARD from Binary Bulge. The lack of "cursor controls" was the first thing that smacked me as being just wrong. Ultra was the only keyboard I found that did everything I wanted, including the cursor controls, full control/setting over every functionality, fully customizable and skinable. It includes some gesture controls, word substitutions/dictionaries, XK9 lookup, etc. There is a FREE trial version you can play with before you buy it. It was the first purchase I made after I got my phone.

You do realize that Graffiti is available for Android, right? Just check the Market - it is FREE.
