Root Do you think we will get the MIUI Rom?

Yeah I knew it would be after 2.2 but, I was just curious to see if we would ever get it. I am sure it gets old, but like Piiman said I like to change it up all the time anyways. I haven't had a chance to actually mess around with it and would like to. I almost bought a Droid for a 100 just to fool around with a little bit ago.

Wonder if we will get this soon?

Jamezelle, the dev that does miui for the D1, is working on it and last I heard had it booting. Booting and being usable are very different stories but hes working on it. That was actually still using the .29 kernel too so the .32 kernel might help even more.

The further along aosp roms get the better chance of getting Miui.

edit: From the horses mouth on irc

<jamezelle> same as before....it boots but radio isnt functioning correctly

<jamezelle> vegittoss15|work, framework ril code issues

<jamezelle> yea it would be fine if i had source for miui

I always forget that miui is closed source. That certainly complicates things.

Thanks for the update, glad someone is working on it. Sucks they are having issues with it, but I am sure it will get worked out eventually.

MIUI Rom < CM6 ... on the n1, so far, with stock froyo on the SF it's far better than the CM6, so I believe if we get it, it will be better than stock, but not better than kaoscinate since CM copied the pulldown toggles shortly after the miui guys did it... other than that if you want your phone buttons to be iphone style (and menus) then you might like it.... not faster than cm tho

I liked all the uniqueness of MIUI's look such as the dialer and messaging app, but the launcher was always painfully slow.

Thats a pretty massive doesn't work list right now. Im no fan of MIUI myself and that dont work list killed any thought of me just checking it out. I know some will be all over this and more power to them. jamezelle is doing tremendous work from basically nothing. When I near final version comes up I'll probably even try it myself just to appreciate all his efforts
