at home...
Well halfway over anyway. I woke up this morning to see this on my homescreen.

I couldnt believe it, so I ran a speed test and the speeds were all over the place, and the tower right behind my house had to be down. (Take a look at the signal strength.

So I waited until this afternoon and the EVDO icon was still there, so I tethered up and ran another speedtest and.....

Its about time Sprint! Now lets work on speeding it up a bit. Overall, i'm happy that my patience has paid off. I can now use my phone the way it was meant to be used, without 4G ofcourse, but i'll take EVDO over 1xRtt anyday!

Hey, maybe this announcement from Sprint on the 7th will bring even more good news....like a national expansion to their 4g network? :)

If they did that, I would take back all the things I said about them.

OP: That is good to hear! Thanks for sharing. I'm glad to hear that Sprint is expanding as well... always a good thing to see the network getting bigger and better. But most of all for YOU... enjoy man! :)

Thanks! And i'm already enjoying it. Just cant wait for them to work out all the bugs and get a stable speed going. Either way i'm happy they FINALLY gave us the sweet taste of EVDO. :)

**special edit**
Just ran a tethered speed test with great results! :D

Your download speeds are better than I get on 3G here in NJ/NYC/Phila corridor most of the time. I get about twice that in upload though. It beat my former service with ATT though were about 50% of the time near Princeton, NJ, I couldn't get connection at all. That said, the Sprint 3G service near my home was terrible 18 months ago. Then 3G improved about 6 months ago just after I got the Evo. Then in Sept/Oct, 4G started popping up and has been solid since late November.

Bottomline is you might be lucky if the cell installation approvals were for both 3G and 4G. If you're lucky again, 4G might be installed but not live. Listen, I want you and everyone else to see more 4G. Sprint still has about another 6-12 months before the 4G competition really kicks in from the other carriers so I want existing Sprint customers to get it before other carrier customers do.

If your now just getting 3G I wouldn't plan on getting 4G any time soon.

This I know but one can still dream right?

Thats some pretty interesting stuff. No area of Louisiana has 4G as of yet but i've seen hundreds of people with EVO's and Epic's so if sprint did their research they would see that they need to get with the program and start looking at bringing us some 4G. I know things like this take time so im not expecting anything anytime soon.

Damn Seddy, just read your update. 1.2 down is pretty good. Things just get better for you. Thats cool! Have Fun!

Tel me about it! All my friends with Sprint, including my roommate are as happy as can be. This EVDO rollout is the best news since the Epic release date. LOL

The 3g and 4g rollouts and upgrades are completely separate.. In fact I have been in areas that have 4g but no 3g service

Really? Thats odd but anything is possible with sprint so its not surprising.
