So when we eventually get 2.2 will.....

you have the option to switch search engines for the homescreen widget and search key...bing, google, and yahoo. however the browser bar search will still default to bing no matter what. most of the root crowd just pulled the browser from the first leak which was full google anyway though

I guess it is an "option" but no "official" OTA version yet.....so does a kitten die every time someone mentions the 2.2 (froyo) update because there is an "unofficial" option for those rooted? Or does the horrible massacre continue until the "official" release?

fair enough...i will say though that anyone (aside from those with work issues) *can* root and upgrade...its just whether or not everyone feels confident to do so...so it is an option...though obviously not ideal (ideal being an official ota)

I had to remove the BING app for the search key to default to Google using 2.2.
