Since it seems that I will be the only one on this forum to get the Motorola Atrix and Laptop Dock LOL, then I guess its up to me to do a thorough review when I get it. I will also get the Entertainment Access Kit which includes the Motorola HD Multimedia Dock, a Bluetooth

id pay the $500 for the dock/phone combo no problem.......its the fact im an employee of att and i have to pay $500 for the phone and $500 for the dock that puts me off

Since you are one of the only ones on this forum that have actually seen it in person - tell us why? Seriously...why do you think it is worth $400 over the price of the phone when you buy it bundled?

$500 is a guess. itll probably be more.

i think the laptop dock is worth it if you will use it.

For me:

I work full time and go to college full time so I am never home. I need something portable to take notes on, watch movies, do basic computer apps and not have to worry about battery life. If i was buying the phone on contract, the dock + phone is $500, 200 for the phone 300 for the dock.

300 is the price of a super cheapo netbook. The dock is all metal, has a really nice keyboard, is super light, and has 2 usb ports for mouse and external memory (HDD)

but thats just me. everyone has their reasons for buying/not buying the phone. being the phone whore i am, id probably buy both at full price, but i am buying a new car in the next couple of weeks and i need all the cash i can get for the down payment.

Another thing to consider with the laptop dock is that IF YOU DO NOT CONTINUE TO PURCHASE MOTOROLA PHONES, it could be OBSOLETE WHEN YOU GET A NEW PHONE!!!!!

So to me its not even worth as much as a netbook of the same cost because at least a netbook will last for several years!!

The laptop dock is worth $200 max. Wouldn't pay a penny more than that...

Well they have this thing call Craiglist which I use often. I think Motorola will make a very good Atrix 2 that will be able to use the Dock but we will see.

I can't wait for the Atrix, but I think I will be passing on the laptop dock, at least for now. I want them to clarify the tethering requirement (that can be gotten around except the subsidy/reduced price), and I think the price will drop once Motorola realizes that many people can't afford this (or the Xoom as well, apparently) during this economy...

There's no guarantee the next Atrix2 or whatever the hell they call it will even be able to use it.

Forum users are generally more intelligent than the average person out there. This is why very few on the forums are getting the laptop dock; and the people who are probably have money to spend.

Honestly, the laptop dock is pointless IMO for at least 2 more years until the technology progresses.

With that said, you guys don't understand people's stupidity :). Marketing + a desire to have the "newest" thing WILL make the laptop dock sell like hotcakes.
