Birthday contacts in Desire not sync'ing from GMail

Hi,

Im having a strange problem with the birthdays in my Desire running 2.2.

When I log into Gmail, the Birthdates of all my contacts are correct. However when I go into the People section of my phone and look at the details of each person, the birthdates are 1-4 days out either side of the correct date of birth. However, if I click on Edit Contact and check BOTH the Google AND Phone contact details, it shows the correct DOB. Where is the phone getting the incorrect DOB from?

This is doing my head in and so frustrating. Is anyone else having the same problem? Both my mum and myself have desires running 2.2 and we're having the exact same problem so I'm guessing its not just us.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Or even if you could check your dobs and confirm whether yours match up?

Thanks,
Angie.

Hi, I have the HTC Desire from U.S. Cellular and I think you may be having the same problem I encountered or at least very similar. It seems that the calendar app isn't smart enough to recognize that when an event is all day (a birthday or holiday of some sort for example), and you set an alarm for any amount of time before the start of the event, it marks the event that much earlier. So say you put your alarm 7 days before a birthday and you select the option for all day event. The event will show on the calendar as 7 days earlier. Simple but annoying solution, set a time early in the morning for these all day events.
