Is it only me that keeps hitting the volume control everytime I use the Widfire sideways?

Have you tried the phone keyboard? It's like an old predictive keypad - with abc on the 2, def on the 3, etc. the ABC-XT9 key switches between multi-tap and T9 predictive.

to get to it you go to the main settings; Language and Keyboard; Touch Input; Keyboard types...

This changes the upright keyboard, the sideways keyboard stays the same.

the best thing to do is to use the alphanumaric keypad when held straight and sideways, the best thing is to use the qwerty pad..

now since i have been stupid enough to update my firmware with 2.2.1 ota update... i have this feature where the screen rotates to both left and right.. so may be that orientation may help you while using it sideways.. btw a case is always helpful..

I hadn't even noticed yet that the screen now rotates both ways. Thanks!
