Must have accessories....

I'm planning on getting either the Otterbox Defender or Commuter case which can be found here: HTC Desire HD Cases // OtterBox.Com The Defender will give you three layers of protection but not sure how much bulk it will add to the phone.

The Otterbox stuff is pretty good, but if there other products are any indication, it will probably add way too much bulk for everyday use.

Screen protectors are a must just stay away from InvisibleSHEILD and you will be fine, just remember when you get it look at if its clear or antiglare. Also get case as it will be good from minor protection from all kind of stuff.

I was hoping you might share brands that you have used in the past that you would recommend to use or stay away from. I am jumping into this game FAR later than most and your experience would greatly help the transition from my old crackberry...

My must have accessories...

1 32GB Micro SDHC Memory Card - delivered today.
1 Case - looking for a case like this one. Either black or smoke in color. The case I would love to have more that anything, is just like the one for my iPhone (Incase Slider). BUT!!!!! Incase doesn't make cases for HTC products.
1 Screen protector - I am not 100% sure on this, however. I've had my iPhone 3GS since December of 2009 and not a scratch on the glass. Period. So, I don't know for sure yet. This could be a purchase at a later date.
1 Micro USB Cable - this will be for an extra charger. I have a USB charger in my car, and with the USB wall plug adapter coming with the Inspire, it'll be nice to plug it into the wall in the bedroom and have a 2nd place to charge it.

What do you mean stay away? I have been using invisiblesheild for a long time on many devices and they have all be fantastic! Care to explain?

From HTC's website-
Inspire Specs- 4.8” x 2.7” x .46 (LxWxT). 5.78oz weight w/ battery
DHD Specs- 4.84" x 2.68" x 0.46". 5.78oz weight with battery

Looks like it is exactly the same with the Inspire figures rounded (not 100% sure but 98% lol)

Definitely not getting an SD. I think 4GB would probably be enough for me. All of my apps are on a 512MB partition on my SD Card and I have over 100 of them. So I have zero need for a 32GB SD (plus I already have an 8GB Class 6 SD on my Liquid which I can easily re-format and transfer over if AT&T does not include an SD).

Only accessories I need are a screen protector, a case. And MAYBE down the line, a dock (not necessary but I could see how it could potentially be useful).

In terms of case, I am probably getting Otterbox. Little bit bulky, sure, but the ultimate protection for the phone coupled with sleek looks make it seem like a good investment. As somebody who has dropped my Liquid in the past (slightly ruining the screen, I would not risk it. Tho HTC probably has MUCH superior build quality to Acer).

Furthermore, I do know for a fact that the Otterbox Defender AND Commuter Series also includes a protective membrane (or a self-adhering screen protector) for the screen so it kills 2 birds with one stone (making it more worth the investment).

Surprised nobody mentioned a car charger. I'd probably get a cheap standard Micro USB one (don't have any Micro USB phones).

Furthermore, if battery life is a problem for me (since I like my brightness cranked high, 3G or WiFi at all times, sync at all times, sometimes listen to music through Bluetooth for hours. Occasional gaming. And not willing to change lol), I might buy a spare battery to keep in with me at all times. This really depends on how batt life is for me (I usually do make it throghout the day with my Liquid, only having a car charger at all times, and that has the 65nm Snapdragon tho underclocked and smaller screen but Liquid's battery is slightly bigger. So doubt I need it. Will see).

I think that is it for me.

Laptop Dock FTW

Certainly you'll want to get a micro sd card. I probably don't need 32GB but I'll get it anyway just in case. Also you want the normal things like a case and maybe an extra battery just in case you're out and using it a ton.

What laptop dock?

Docking is likely unachievable with the droid because you have to monkey around with microusb plug to get it in there.

I believe so but to make sure go to HTC website and get the dimensions and compare

I just check through PhoneArena, and the dimensions are the exact same except for one part. I will include a picture below:

What do you think???
