Switching from iPhone to Inspire

I've had my iPhone 3gs for about a 1.5 years and really wanted to wait until this summer for iPhone 5. I think I'm going to get the HTC Inspire. All the reviews and fanfare are promising.

A year ago I had an HTC Hero for 3 days. It felt sluggish and slow and it didn't feel like it was the phone for me. I went back to the iPhone.

I think this is it though. I'm tired of the iPhone and I want something new. HSPA+ and 1Ghz processor for $99 really pushed me to get this Android phone.

How comparable are the Hero and Inspire? Is anyone else on this boat with me? I hope I'm not making a mistake.

I had the hero cool phone. The inspire is a powerhouse it wont get bogged down like the hero used to. I think your making the right choice I mean I came from being an iphone owner all 4 versions. Not going back

I still remember the day iOS 4.0 came out. My friend had a 3G and was really looking forward to getting all the nice features... WRONG!!!!

I too was excited, for ios4 on the iphone 3g. I was looking forward to the multitasking, oh but wait!!! Apple didn't allow it on the 3g lol. Lets just say I was not the happiest camper. The slow speeds became pretty much unbearable and I had to get a new phone.

But now here we are... 8 days away.

Finally rid of the iPhone.

I'll admit, I am a little apprehensive about leaving the iPhone, just because I use so many apps, daily, and that re-purchasing them from Android is gonna suck. I don't feel bad about walking away from Apple, though. They are just too closed off for what I want. Goodbye 3Gs, hello Inspire!

Last night before I went to bed, I was just poking around on my iPhone... and I'll admit... the fast app switching and whatnot was done very well by Apple. All cell phone devs should take notice to how that's handled... I'll miss my iPhone... but I won't miss iTunes.

Your gonna find that the majority of apps are free on android that you paid for on apple or alot cheaper

ios has an edge in gaming and overall polish. android beats the pants off ios in terms of productivity and cloud based activities and basically keeping you connected. i would say, aside from gaming, you're really not missing a thing going to android.

there's other little things like choosing various keyboards, messaging apps, and profile managers.

I was an original G1 owner fro day one. Left it when the Bold 9700 released, and came back two months later when the Nexus came out. Left, again, to get the iPhone 4. Now I'm waiting to get the Inspire or the Atrix. Clearly, I'm a guy that doesn't learn lessons!

lol I jumped a bit even to palm pre but now Ive settled in with android and the Inspire is my weapon of choice

Here's another reason for me to dump the iphone. It's been acting up lately, not responding, jerky screens, not loading apps right. So today I decide to restore it. It went into recovery mode and got stuck. I was just now able to restore it but seriously... I'm done.

I almost thought it was bricked... which didn't bum me out too much with the Inspire just around the corner, but I have to buy the upgrade price and was hoping to get some money from the iphone on ebay. Lets hope it lasts that long.
