In store purchase crowds

Based on previous android phone releases what do you all expect the stores to look like on the 13th? I hate dealing with crowds, and I'm definitely not waiting in a long line to get in the store... then again... I want this phone yesterday.

Just curious what it was like when the Incredible was dropped, or some of the other more popular droids.

Aside from Internet buzz... there isn't anything being said about this phone... no TV, no print...

Pretty much... it's a low flyer. By that, I mean... I don't see there being a huge line AT ALL to grab this phone on launch day.

The day Windows Phone 7 came out, I talked to a guy I know who works at an AT&T store... he said 5 or 6 people KNEW ABOUT IT... everyone else was like, "HUH?"

I doubt there will be lines. Maybe at some stores but I would say the majority of stores probably will not. I would say 95% of att customers know nothing about this phone (you can thank att's awesome marketing for that). Of the lets say 5% of the att customers that know about it, most will probably not be eligible for an upgrade. $450 is a lot of money to for some people to spend on a phone off contract. Some will, but the majority probably will not. Just my opinion. I am pretty sure that most if not all of the people that want this phone on launch day, myself included, should have no problem getting it.

p.s. I also think the att reps will try to push the iphone to people that go in the buy the inspire. They always seem to try to push the iphone regardless of whatever phone you are looking at. Just my $.02

I dont agree with your iphone sentiment at all, its a new dawn and android is AT&T's future I think they will push these phones, Look at the aggressive pricing on Inspire

My att store is so pro iphone it is not even funny. I go in there quite often to shoot the breeze and they are constantly pushing the iphone to customers regardless of what the customer says they want. I know att must start pushing android because they lost iphone exclusivity. Android is definately looking up fot att. They are finally getting some devices that rival the other carriers high end devices.

I dont see that either no atrix in store push will be hard to do

Atrix push is through trainings, super bowl ads, and every store is getting a live atrix/laptop dock demo.

Even though the Inspire is a bit more complex (due to sense) (and when i say complex i mean feature rich) than the moto blur-endowed atrix so id think we would need a better training suite for the inspire.

lets face it. It is Sense and HTC's standards for high quality phones that sell us on this phone, and i rather spend time training on that then sitting in a 4 hour class with some atrix rep showing us how to connect the atrix to an hdmi cable lol. (it was cool but still anyone can do that)

Yea I hope you show people the awesomeness that is sense when they come in your store and not all the hype that is atrix

Here somethings not many people know about the tegra 2 processor:

Yes it is a dual core, but this is how it is written to work (from my understanding):

They split processes to work on different cores. IE: games, music, video would work on 1 core while other processes work on the other. while it makes things run more efficiently, you wouldnt really notice a difference in performance unless you really were running 50 things at once. When i played with the atrix, i noticed no difference in snappiness compared to a captivate running cognition rom

as of right now, dual core is nice, and unlocks extra features, but these features wont be utilized for a while.
