Help Screen dims before it times out

I've noticed that my Fascinate's screen dims before going dark. Is there any way to disable this behavior? I use keep phone overnight in a desk dock, running the app 'Bedside' to display an extremely dim clock. The phone's automatic 'dimming' actually seems to brighten black portion of the screen a tiny amount.

I've messed around with the display settings, but thusfar had no success. Does anyone know of a workaround?

Do you have auto brightness on? Thats probably it. Turn if off [Settings>Display>Brightness]

What are you doing when it auto dims. It should not if you display unless you are in the browser which has its own brightness settings. You also have to adjust these and turn off the auto brightness for browser as well. If this is occurring out of browser its beyond my experience sorry

It occurs regardless of activity. It always precedes the screen timing out by a few seconds when the phone is unplugged and left idle (on the home screen, in the browser, etc) I think it's meant to warn the user that the display is about to time out.

Bedside keeps the screen on, displaying a very dim clock. The display dims, but because the app keeps the screen on, that's all that happens. Because the clock is already so dim, and the screen is predominantly black, the 'dim' actually brightens the black areas of the screen a tiny, tiny bit.

I really appreciate the attempt to help, though. Seriously, you guys offer much better support than Samsung or Verizon.
