Root On Stock DL09. Going to DL30 this weekend. Bother w/EA28?

As I read more, I now hear of battery issues with DL30?

Ugh, might make me wait for our next leak to complete first root. I hate my current battery life and cannot take worse. Talking 1 1/2 hours, screen on about 1 hour, and my battery is between 5-teens after about 10-12 hours. That's if I don't get any "time without signal".

Worse than that?

Thats pretty bad. I dont think DL30 has worse battery. It is highly adviseable though that one resets their battery stats after fully charging on DL30 the 1st time. By the second battery cycle you should be good to go.

How do you reset battery stats?
In clockwork, under advanced
Always reset at 100% on a full charge and then that 1st charge after resetting try and drain it as much as possible before recharging. IME it helps, others will tell you it makes no difference. Try it yourself. Full Charge, reset stats, full drain if possible and see after that

Thats what worked for me, charge to full, leave it on charger overnight just to be sure, reboot into recovery, get to clockwork recovery, reset battery stats, do it twice for good measure, reboot, run it off charger until it totallt dead, problem fixed.

Hmmm. I can't seem to get in cwm.
Yesterday, I installed DL30 and newcwm.zip.

I was trying thru rom manager. Flash into recovery, got to blue text, install from sd:update....and it just reboots into recovery again? Tried with 3 button reboot also.

You mean apply update.zip didn't work? You hit the soft home key to apply it right?:)
Worst case scenario you ll have to odin old recovery back on and then reflash new cwr

Yep. apply update.zip no go. Used soft home key (that's how I reboot system after it didn't work)

Maybe if I go thru ROM manager and flash cwr and then reboot into recovery? It says current recovery: clockworkmod 2.5.0.4???

Which old recovery do I need?
Then new_cwm.zip. (I did that after DL30leak.zip, but....

if it doesnt work from 3 button recovery it wont work from rom manager..its the same thing except rom manager tries to automatically apply the update.zip instead of you clicking an extra button.

Even if I click flash cwm recovery, choose fascinate, then reboot into recovery? Last time I just clicked reboot into recovery.

If that's the case, how can I get back into cwr? you said odin old recovery. Which is that?

Then assuming I get in, I've got a cwm_froyo from saps that I'll try.

If you cwm aint working you cant flash that froyo cwm zip.
Luckily jt made an odin tar as well http://db.tt/4jyrDVR flash that in odin [PDA] and you should be golden

"if you are using odin or heimdall, then use the cwm_froyo-odin package. Unzip it, place update.zip on /sdcard, and flash cwm_froyo.tar via odin or heimdall." - jt1134

Alright, well that took me to red recovery after initial blue. installed cwm_froyo.zip. Or so I assume.

Now going back in via 3 button, apply sd update at blue should take me to new cwm, right?

And what if I go thru ROM manager? Do I have to flash cwr in RM and then reboot in RM?

Thanks as always.

If you did that odin its the exact same thing as the froyo cwm zip. With froyo you will always [for now] have to stop at blue and then go to red. It wasnt like 2.1 voodoo where we were straight to red. Maybe jt will fix that eventually. Honestly, I dont even have ROM Manager installed. There is no need for it for me. And unless you have blackhole rom I dont see why you'd want it.

So bottom line is if you did either the odin froyo cwm or the zip you're done

Haha....uh oh. I did the Odin, which took me to blue, install sd to red....and then install cwm_froyo.zip.

I'm guessing I just installed same program on top of itself...LOL
