Root Velocity 1.0 issues

Note: First Android phone and first time doing anything to an android phone like this.
Ok. So I rooted and installed velocity. Before I get to anything else... I came across the totally reset thread and it said one you go completely factory you have to go through the whole android setup thing. Now when I reboot I have to go through this, but there is a skip option that was not that before so I am immagining that's how it's supposed to be? The problems I had so far are that after installing velocity I lost all my gpu and playback abilities. I was getting 39frps on neocore and it dropped to 25. Then I overclocked and and got it to 42. Ok. Then I realized all my videos played choppy. Even the recorded ones. When I went into the gallary it was endlessly loading and camera would never stop saying preparing sd card. I wiped the sd card and reinstalled velocity a couple times. I finally just got the gallery and camera to work by loading on my pictures, loading, then camera pics, loading it, then music. Letting them load one by one and it took no time at all. I have not put the videos back on except for trying one to be sure and same problem with playback. Then someone said make stagefright false in the build.prop as this would force it back to the original codecs. Couldn't open that in the phone, found out to open in notepad on computer and can't save any changes in the .prop file type. Also was not sure how to do that anyway and strage fright was in lib and it didn't say stage fright in th build.prop file. Tried putting media.stagefright.enable-player=false where the first .media. was, but can't save as a .prop and didn't know if that was correct. Then someone said I had to get an app like super manager to access these files, but I still can't access them. Now what all exactly would switching stagefright to false do. Is this something that was automattically done in the rom for everyone else or is there something different in my phone? What would I be loosing by doing that??
PS: I LOVE THE ROM AND THE WORK DONE. I AM JUST HAVING A BUGGY ISSUE WHICH IS PROBABLY MY PHONE OR SOMETHING THAT WENT WRONG AND I AM NEW TO THIS AND HAVE A BAZILLION Q'S AND HAVE SEARCHED THREADS ALREADY. This is just everything that happened as to make sure no detail is left out incase I missed something needed.

Ok dude stop bitching. The Velocity team worked hard on making Velocity 1.0. It is people like you that made death2all and trident leave. So shut up. Just restore your backup. You should of made one like it said! So you can go back to the crappy Stock ROM

THE ROM IS GREAT AND I ALREADY THANKED PEOPLE AND WOULD DONATE AFTER I FIXED MY ISSUES ON IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It's idiots like you that assume crap that start stupid shit!!!!! I was asking to many questions on the forum and started another thread as to not keep taking up the space in there where everyone was praising the rom and to see if I could get a couple straight answers instead of scattered ones from different people!!!!!!!! I had made the back up and was still having my problems, although in the sd card transfering and formatting I think the first one got deleted.

Dude this was my second froyo rom. I was the first to thank Trident back to the ally scene. There are always gonna be problems that is the reason their custom roms. The stock roms get tested for months and months on end.

This was just why I was trying to find the fix. And I kept getting different answers from different people so I figured it was just a simple fix that I was missing that someon else would know and started a thread to get less scattered suggestions. I'm probably Just gonna do the stock flash now that I ofund that instead.

Well I fixed the camera preparing sd card and gallery by loading one thing at a time, but the video playback is worse than me playing hd on my pc. lol. Also it didn't support all my videos anymore. So I was hoping to fix that. Like I said before someone told me to go into the build.prop file in the rom in the system folder and put it to stragefright false and that would supposedly make it revert to the original codecs.

Really that's it. My phone just seems to have a playback issue with the rom update but a better vid player will get it back????!!!!!! All that and that's it?? LOL!!

wat do you mean by not supported. Because when I got this phone my old phone videos didnt have any sound so do you mean like that or wat?

I mean as in won't open them and says does not support. Before the upgrades and stuff it played the videos fine though. Sound and video and not choppy. Mp4 and divx in wvga with decent bitrates and good audio. I even lowered the bitrate on some for assurance and less space.

And yup, I did the unbelievably smart thing of erasing my first back up... That helps a lot.

It might just be the phone. Because it is the lg ally. Or make sure you are installing Velocity right

And as far as installation goes I rooted, downloaded velocity and put it on the sd card, got rom manager, did its thing, then booted in recovery, came up blue screen and i thought i bricked for sure but had to pull battery out and do it again(no biggy), ran my back up(which as an idiot i accidently deleted), flashed, installed from zip and rebooted to velocity.

dont use rom manager to install a rom. and dont use clockwork as your custom recovery. Amon Ra is a much better program for the ally. a lot of your issues are probably because of the way you rooted. Trident's rom works flawlessly on my phone but i went through his guide to get root. and fastboot is one of the reasons it works on my phone.

im not sure but i dont think you can reroot using tridents method. once you took the OTA i believe its locks the bootloader making fastboot no longer accessible. dont quote me on that though. need a dev to come clarify that

im not sure but i dont think you can reroot using tridents method. once you took the OTA i believe its looks the bootloader making fastboot no longer accessible. dont quote me on that though. need a dev to come clarify that
