I wonder ..... (always on option)

I'm sure everyone has noticed that the "always on" option has been removed from DL30 and the 30 minute screen time out option has been removed leaving us with the longest option of 10 minutes. So I wonder .... if Samsung was seeing screen burn out or some other problem where they don't want us having the screen on. Personally I like having the screen always on while docked in my ProClipUSA dash-mounted hard-wired SF mount.:thinking::thinking:

From my experience you dont have to switch it to always on when its in the dock, it should just keep your phone on no matter what.

That may be true for the manufacturers windshield mounted mount ... I dunno. But when plugged into a regular micro-usb charger the 'always on' option used to allow the phone screen to remain on ... not anymore, the option was removed.

Try a widget from the market

I've looked for one but havent found anything yet. If you stumble across one let me know.

Also, I notice the desktop clock feature doesn't stay on now. Which makes using the SF as an alarm clock useless. I travel A LOT! So I also use my SF as my nightstand alarm since I have my alarms pre-set and when I roll over in the middle of the night I'm always looking to see how many more hours I have to sleep lol. Prob a bug that will eventually get fixed

The thing with OLED's is that the different color leds have different lifespans. I think blue or green have the shortest. Might have something to do with that.

That might also be why there are more green and blue leds then red or whatever it is. I know there are an uneven number of leds per pixel. Something like 8, which divided up = like 2 red, 3 blue, and 3 green. I think it's split up that way, but I'm not sure. I don't have a microscope.

I am also really hating this change. I use my Fascinate as a GPS in the car, but without the official dock, and the dang screen keeps sleeping while I am driving. I hate to set the time-out to an hour because I will forget when I unplug the phone, put it in my pocket, and get out of the car. I will have to check out the market apps, but one which simply makes the screen never sleep won't help. I just don't want it to automatically sleep while charging.

Are you using Maps or Navigation? My Navigation won't go to sleep.

It's quirky ... if I have the nav screen up it won't hibernate but if I take a call or go into another screen (while driving with nav app) it will go into sleep mode even though nav is running in the BG. I found a customizable screen on app that is working great.
