Sense Copy/Paste or Equivalent???

Other than Copy Paste It, is there a way to retrieve the functionality of this stock feature from Sense?
In my personal experience, although Copy Paste It DOES actually recognize text relatively well, I'd say it's 70% accurate at best.
Before I rooted, I assumed I would most likely lose the feature, but didn't realize, at the time, how much I would miss it.

Just rooting doesn't cause any Sense features to be lost. What ROM are you running?

Pardon me, I should have been more specific . . .
I lost the Copy/Paste feature, not when I rooted, but when I loaded a custom ROM. Im currently running CM6, due to the fact that it seemed to be the most stable & readily available . . . However, because of some of its limitations, Im considering trying a couple of different ROMs. Since I am new to rooting, flashing, etc. though, I keep dragging my feet so I dont have to do a complete wipe, brick it, etc.

I believe that since CM6 is built off of Vanilla Android OS, the feature is not built in . . . I suspect though, that someone has cracked HTC's app/feature, so that it can be reloaded on, at the very least HTC phones . . .
So far, my search results are inconclusive . . .

Could it simply be the limitations of the ROM I'm using?
I know that there are Sense-like/Sense-based ROMs, but honestly other than the Sense Phonebook & the copy/paste features, there isn't anything else that interests me about Sense . . .

Cm6 has copy and paste, it's an android feature, not a sense feature.
some apps just have a different way of implementing it. But it can be done on all android phones and roms.
It's usually done by long pressing in a field and choosing "select all" or "select word". Then moving the icons to highlight exactly what you want, then long pressing again and selecting copy or in some apps you just tap the selected text to copy it. Long press again to paste.

Wow, I'm starting to feel really dumb now . . . here I am asking for help and I can't even accurately describe my phone's software status or the exact feature I'm looking for . . .

To clarify, the copy/paste works perfectly fine in text fields/blocks/boxes . . .

The copy/paste feature I am looking for, which I believe is actually a feature of Sense, is the [long press + hold] to activate copying text in the browser, email, etc. . . . the "text recognition" if you will . . . much like the Copy Paste It app I mentioned to in my OP . . .

That depends on what browser/email client you use. Htc did build an easier copy and paste into the "stock" browser but most other browsers in the market have the same feature built in.

But the "copy paste it" app in general is more user friendly.
