Do you tether? Use Firefox throttle to make sure you dont go over 5Gb!

No such thing as 5 gb limit...

yea lotta ppl keep saying that. But I've seen (supposedly) VZW employees posting on this forum and being very adamant about this 5Gb limit for UNLIMITED data. Also, some users have stated that they've even gotten phone calls from vzw reps regarding their data usage over 5Gb......sooooooooooooooooo.......idk

wish there was a solid answer rather than hear say cause I know some of my customers have some old internet cards (pre aircard) and back in the day Verizon had an unlimited internet service and ive talked to some that used it for watching movies on their laptops when traveling and if they were to get a new USB card they would have to sing onto the new 5 gig plan. Im wondering if since verizon soposedly doesnt offer a teathering plan for the droid yet if they are cleared to use more than 5 gigs or not.

Now see I was wondering about that so I emailed Verizon posing as a new customer.
My Message:
"Is there a monthly allowance for data on the $30 "unlimited" data plan for the
droid, or is it truly unlimited?"
Response:
"Dear (my name) ,

My name is Dan, and I'd like to thank you for contacting Verizon Wireless. I am happy to inform that the $29.99 Unlimited Email & Web for Smartphone data plan is completely unlimited, and does not have a monthly allowance. With Verizon Wireless you will enjoy the nation

here is your solid answer. Unlimited Data on the phone directly, and since there is no tethering available on the Droid yet, then you won't have to worry about the 5GB limit because because the 5GB limit is only on tethering plans (or aircards), not smartphone plans.

Also, there was a period that Verizon did have Unlimited Mobile Broadband, but they realized that people were using a lot of bandwidth, so they implemented the newer plan of 5GB cap. Those who had the plan prior to it got to keep their true Unlimited plan, but all new activations became 5GB
