All HTC Inspire 4G Previews/Reviews in here!

I agree with what you said. I was making the distinction between 4G (ala LTE & WiMax) and HSPA+. And AT&T does throttle HSUPA (not really throttle, HSUPA is simply disabled in software) for devices not called the iPhone 4. The highest upload users will be able to achieve will be around 400Kbps unfortunately. On the Captivate, this was easily circumvented.

Well, if this is the case, it's gonna blow, as I'm used to greater than 1mbps upload speeds.

Assuming rooting and installing a new ROM, will you be able to keep Sense on it, cause I really like the look of it.

There are usually 'light" versions of ROMs that just give you super user control over the phones functioinality like side loading/mobile hot spotting/faster speeds/ right over the top of the stock user interface.

Thats the way ill probably go (at least at first).

Well, lets hope that the actual HSPA+ network, when it gets turned on, will support higher upload speeds.

I have a feeling I'll be keeping this phone till May/June and switching to Tmobile for the Pyramid, or even to Verizon for the Bionic.

At&t really does some things that are annoying, and disabling a feature of a certain phone while allowing it on another is just one of them. I shouldn't have to hack a phone to get use of the network the way it was designed to work.

Dont use main stream media for tech reviews...they are the worst.

To be honest..even cnet doesnt do good reviews of the gadgets.

You have to go to a site like tomshardware or anandtech for in dept computer coverage, and to a forum like this to find anything out about smaller tech devices....

But the washington times....thats a joke.

Edit: News paper workers are some of the LEAST intelligent people i have ever met.

Seriously..with the exception of a few "serious news professionals'....the vast majority of "writers" are about one step above the trash you see in walmarts and in line at the DMV intelligence wise.

Think about it...if this guy had any SERIOUS technical abiliites...he wouldnt be working as a writer.

Think about the people you knew in college who majored in "journalism".......

AND THERES YOUR SIGN.... morons all of them.

I am open minded to reviews that down play the inspire....in fact, i welcome them so we can see some of the flaws....

but in this review its not the case. This guy is an idiot and should never write an article again.....for a high end news publication there are wayyy too many mistakes :

KELLNER: HTC Inspire 4G is nice, but no iPhone - Washington Times

I stopped reading when he said the Inspire only had 8GB of RAM. You don't know the difference between storage and RAM and I'm supposed to take your review seriously? Even the 8 wasn't right because the last time I checked 4 + 8 still equals 12.

Why does AT&T launch a phone (and send review units) and attach 4G to it without having their network ready? All three of the other carriers managed to launch 4G devices and have a significant 4G footprint in place to at least show speeds off for reviews.
Thats not entirely true

When the Evo was launched people in Phoenix, my friends, were paying $10 a month extra for a service they did not have: 4G wimax.. The phone was still launched as the first 4G device in America but a lot of people could not utilize wimax because it was not available in their area.

Wimax still isn't available by me, and I live in a pretty populated area.

HTC Inspire 4G (AT&T) Review - A Review of the HTC Inspire 4G (AT&T)

COMMENTS ON BATTERY LIFE FROM THE REVIEW:
Sadly, the Inspire 4G packs a relatively low-capacity 1230 mAh battery, compared to 1500 mAh for the Evo 4G. So we weren't surprised when this smart phone lasted only 4 hours and 48 minutes in our battery test. (This test involves surfing the web over 3G/4G with the screen on 40-percent brightness.) So even if you assume the true runtime is 5:06, that's 22 minutes shorter than the Android category average, and well behind other 4.3-inch phones such as the Evo 4G (5:48) and Motorola Droid X (7:42).

I call BS on there supposed battery tests. Many reputable sites have all been in the range of 9-12 hours now this jabroni says less than 5 STFU!

I think the 12 hour estimates were for "moderate usage", whereas this test is constantly using 3G data.

No HTC source did a heavy usage test and got 9 hours, so i call this test BS and they just assumed because of the EVO battery, and even if that were true no one uses constant data for 5 hours straight so they are even bigger idiots to post that as a battery time
