Am the only EPIC user that actually likes TouchWiz?

I hate the fact that updates are slow as much as you do, but I'm running DK28 anyway and it works fine for me.

I like TouchWiz because it adds a lot of functionality and cutomization options not found on stock Android. I like the fact that it has a built-in Task Manager. I also love the TW social networking widget. The one on Sense doesn't sync with MySpace, and I still use Myspace. I absolutely love how TW adds more functionality to the Notifications bar (the Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS, Silencer, and 4G buttons).

I know I can set my phone to launch stock Android, but I really don't think that's going to help me out in anyway.

i like TW a lot too. i know some have recommended using launcher pro and i just might but TW works for me right now. once i'm a little more comfortable with things i will download launcher pro. someone recommended using launcher pro icons and desktop visualizer too.

the task manager isn't a TW thing. I run ADW and still have the task manager in my app drawer. as far as the settings in the notification drop down. not a TW thing either. I had those on my Hero running 2.2 as well as on my Epic running DK28. TW has some nice offerings for widgets. I like the accuweather clock widget but even that can be found as a separate widget.

all that said. the beauty of Android is making the phone look and feel how YOU want it to look and feel. If TW is what makes you happy then I'm all for that.. I even switch back and forth between ADW and TW just because I like to have options.

Touchwiz is not just a launcher. It's all the tweaks they do over stock android. same with Sense. It extends beyond the launcher. For me, the toggles in the dropdown menu are a huge plus for me and one of the first things I noticed lacking on the shift. It's very reminiscent of webOS functionality. The task manager integrated into the home screen is also nice though I do a lot less killing in 2.2 than I did on 2.1. That's about it. Don't like their tweaked launcher and use launcher pro.

I read somewhere that the application icons appearing in a matrix, as opposed to in a vertical list, is from TouchWiz and not part of stock Android. If that's true, you wonder why such cool and indispensable features (like enhancements to the dropdown bar) is not part of the stock Android. Don't these features make Android at least the equivalent of iOS? If that's the case, wouldn't all this mess be averted if these features were incorporated into Android? So what is preventing that. Is there a place you can go to make detailed suggestions on enhancements to stock Android?

Does touchwiz drain battery? What about tw combined with beautiful widgets? Just curious? and another question..i know how to disable touchwiz but i wanted to try to get back to my 7 pages option and i lost that ability. i know it says to go to setting-apps-manage apps-filter all-the scroll to twlauncher. then it says to go to the option launch by default and hit clear defaults but i dont have the option to choose the clear defaults box. the box is there but its dark gray and by it it says no defaults set. any ideas?

If no defaults are set, hit the Home button and choose Launcher instead of TwLauncher.

Ah, I thought the stupid puzzle lock was in all flavors of TW...

I retract that then :)

Nope :)

We have a swipe up to unlock or we can swipe down to get to an incoming text, missed call, etc.
