No BTM in Market

Tried finding a related thread and posted in there, but never got a response, so I'm trying a brand new thread in hopes to get a timely response.

But I'm with AT&T (hence the Captivate) and we were supposidly the first carrier to get a BTM offer for purchases in Market. Well I finally found an app worth buying... Beautiful Widgets.... going through the purchasing process it only gives me an option to use credit/debit card. Where's the BTM offer. Supposidly it's available with everyone now but I'm not seeing it when trying to get Beautiful Widgets... so what gives?

Thanks in advance.

I work for AT&T and we never got a communication that we needed to contact Care to allow this. Wouldn't it be a software issue anyway? I could understand if Market gave the option to BTM but didn't allow the purchase, then it would be a billing issue. but the option is flat out not there, so I would consider that a software issue instead.

From what I've seen, sometimes apps list it as an option, and sometimes they don't. It might be up to the author, the carriers can't force it on everyone perhaps.

I have it on my phone, just checked. Do you have the most up-to-date version of the Market app? I have version 2.2.11, but I have a custom ROM, so you may need to confer with someone who has the same version of ROM that you have.

I thought the most up to date Market App came with the 2.1 carrier update? I've seen Market updates in Market that I've tried upgrading but it doesn't allow me to, so I always figured I had the most uptodate verison.

The update back in September, no. There have been several updates to the Market app since then. My always downloaded automatically.

Check out this thread, it has some tips to finding your Market version and on ways people were successful at getting it updated.

Actually I figured it out. I was able to purchase Widget Locker using BTM, but not Beautiful Widgets. Widget Locker gave me an even dollar amount, $1.99... BW gave me my amount at something weird.. like $2.37 or something like that. Normally when there's an amount like that, it's because the price of something is in a European amount like a euro or pound, and it's translated to US dollars so we know what we're spending. That only occurs when it's an app sold in the US, but developed somewheres else.

So due to that reasoning, I think BTM only works when you're purchasing an app that was developed in the same country as your service provider.

Sort of lame-sauce, but I got over it. WL is awesome.
