hi all :

can anyone help me with my android eclair that cannot format or read sd card, once i could format the sd card, but then i cannot view my picture & access my file there? what should i do or what apk can solve this?

the first time i used, sd card was ok, but then after i installed and uninstalled a few application, the SD card was error, first i reseted to factory data reset and all was ok but then it got error again and couldnot fix with factory data reset, so i formated it and failed. the error message is "preparing sd card, checking for error" but no progress at all
the micro sd cannot read file & photo, whats wrong with the memory card or my gadget? thanx for your help

If possible try installing a different micro SD card into the phone to see if the problems continue. If they do then you may be encountering a hardware problem with the phone.

First of all lets rule out the SDCard is not defective. Now if you can't access the SDCard though your device then use card reader and directly view it on your PC. If you can access it then backup all your data as I want to you verify the data integrity of the card. What you want to do is download H2TestW v1.4(freeware) and run it from PC and then do write/read/verify test on it to see if its good and not corrupted as that would mean defective card.

If it passes that than your file allocation table could be corrupted thus device not able to read it as its shows us UFS. So do full low level thorough format which should take little longer depending on the size/class of your card. So after format place it on your device and Android will write it as native, but if you get Blank SDCard then format/erase it though your device and you should be good to go. Taking in account the card was the root of the problem if not then it maybe your device, which is another matter but do this first and lets take it from there.

thank you all for the replies,

i have tried these :
- connect to the computer, the computer's still able to explore the sd, but it cannot read the photos that i took with the handheld, then it asked to be formatted, then i formated and ok
- i used again the handheld to make photos, the foto can be read for few moments, then after i used other application such gmail, browser, etc i cannot view again the photos before, all were only blank pictures, i tried to read it at computer but the same blank & cannot recognized
- i tried also with resetting to factory default, its ok only for awhile, but then the same problem happened, i cannot see my files again especially photo and video

pls someone help me, how to fix it...

Based on your further description it sounds like you have a corruption issue on your phone. My first thought would be to remove any/all apps installed on the phone to see if one of your apps is contributing to the problem.

If removing the apps does not resolve the problem I'd then suggest booting into the recovery menu, if your phone supports one, and doing a complete factory data reset on the phone to restore the phone to factory fresh condition. This will delete any/all data, apps, and pictures on the phone.

BTW what brand/model Android phone do you have?
