Full specifications of Galaxy S 2, Desire HD2, Desire 2, Wildfire 2 leak? | BGR | Boy Genius Report

BGR said:
Global online mobile retailer Expansys has published a handful of specifications for a quartet of unreleased handsets. With a large trade-show right around the corner, it’s only natural to have a little corporate leakage — this particular leak involves the Samsung Galaxy S 2, HTC Desire HD2, HTC Wildfire 2, and Desire 2. Let’s get right into it and start listing specs, shall we? Follow the jump to check out the goods.

Down the page theres specs for the Desire HD2-and they look amazing! Will this follow in the Desire HD's footsteps and become the next Inspire related device on AT&T?

Really? I'm surprised. In all the Atrix threads, all the Inspire guys argue that dual core is a gimmick since nothing takes advantage of it, and that all it does is drain the battery faster -- and we all know HTC phones already have an issue with battery life as it is.

By next year Android will be multi-core optimized, actually it will be this spring with 2.4. The argument against Atrix is that Android isn't yet optimized for multi-cores, and that Moto is slow about upgrading their devices to newer Android versions.

Snapdragon processor is built differently than tega and works differently. the point isnt that its a gimmick, ust not a necessity, especially when you dont like the rest of the phone around it. ;)

Better Processor.
Same Camera.
3.3"? wtf? Hope thats a typo and it meant 4.3"
Higher Res.
No FFC?
1080p Video
512 Ram? Lower then inspire wtf?
Sense 3.0? Nice!

Holding my breath on some of those specs, dont seem right, either way its gonna be good!, dosnt seem like a huge upgrade (IMO) Hopefully by the time I upgrade in March 2012, there will be something better.

I don't buy that. Considering that we're all being tied to new 2 year contracts, and that if Android becomes multi-core optimized by next season, it'd definitely be better to get a dual core processor now than 2 years later.

Plus, I expect HTC to release a dual core phone pretty soon (whether it's the DHD2 or something else), and I'm expecting that you will all praise the dual cores. Which is pretty hypocritical given your arguments against the Atrix's dual cores. I know, it's not optimized yet. But so what? A few months early is not a big deal. Especially when we're tied to a 2 year contract. And even if Moto doesn't update the OS as quickly as HTC, they'll definitely update it far sooner than your 2-yr agreement ends. The Droid X got Froyo only a month or so after the EVO.

No I'm not trying to get into a Atrix vs Inspire discussion. Cuz this isn't about the Atrix -- I put that in bold hoping that everybody will comprehend that. And to be honest, I've always found those threads to be idiotic. I'm just pointing out some behavior that I've seen all too often come from an iPhone camp. Whenever someone would point out a missing feature on the iPhone, the iPhone guys would defend how that feature is not only unnecessary, but also undesireable. But once the iPhone later gains that feature, they praise it as if Lord Steve Jobs invented it himself.

Even if 2.4 comes.with multicore support this spring it will take at least 6 months to.start arriving into phones. Meaning not until quarter 1 or.2 of 2012

Very good points. +1. My decision to get the Inspire over the Atrix boils down to my history with each company. I've owned two Motorola phones, the RAZR and a phone back in the day that had a camera attachment (seems ridiculous years later). Never had a problem with them, but the quality, in my opinion, isn't as good as HTC. I've owned 3 HTC's over the years, and have never had a problem with build quality or customer service. I don't care about the dual cores debate yet, as the Inspire will still perform admirably in the meantime. And when the dual core phones start to come out in masses, I'll be there. Even though the Atrix is better on paper (and probably performs better in reality too), it never was an issue. They both have great specs and any performance difference won't be noticeable in terms of how I use my phone right now.

my argument is that applications arent optimized for it yet

Which is an acceptable argument. I'm not denying that. But it gets thrown out the window when an HTC phone is released a couple months later and all of a sudden, dual core is praised. I could understand if it were a year later, but come on...

I'm not saying that you're one of these people. But these double standards always irk me. And of course, these people will never admit to their bias, which irks me even more.

I honestly don't believe it'll take that long. But that's besides the point.

My point was:

Non-HTC company releasing dual core phone = Meh. It's unnecessary
HTC releasing a dual core phone shortly after = Fvck ya!!!

Nobody else is seeing this?

To be fair, this discussion is about a phone that will likely arrive here in the US Q1 2012.
