Everyone has been doing this thing with numbers been doing this since the beginning of media. This is certainly nothing new. Every administration in every country in every era has done these things with numbers to try to look good. What's so special about this time?

That's something that I really wonder. What would the US be like right now if McCain/Palin were in office? What would they have accomplished with the Democrats controlling both houses before the midterm elections? I believe that if we insert McCain with Obama... we would still have the same result.

No, id say it is from consumer confidence. The banks were taking us off a cliff. People were scared, they pulled their investments. People arent as scared, and are willing to invest again. I say this because there really hasnt been many changes to their practices.

the economical mess we and the entire world is in right now took years to create, and was caused by many factors. You have the whole housing crissis, banks and investment firms who loaned untold billions to those with less then prefect credit, through ARM loans, you had home buyers snatching up these homes that were ran $200,000-$500,000 with payments of $700-$1,000, never once considering that the interest rate on an ARM loan could double or tripple the monthly payment.

A previous co worker had a house through an ARM loan when he and his wife bought it the real estate comapny explained that their $800 monthly payment could double to $1,600, when and if the interest rate changed. they were fine with it. they both made enough to cover the payment, however when the interest rate chnaged for their ARM loan, their housing payment increased to over $2,000

everyone though Obama was going to ride in on a white horse wave a magic wand and make everything all better, fixing the problems we are facing starts here in the trenchs with the little people, stop looking to obama and politicans to fix our problems

As someone said in another thread, you want the government to do what only the government can do. People will always be willing to take loans they shouldnt. Banks will always be willing to loan them the money they shouldnt,, to resale it. Only the government can control it. The people in the trenches dont care about the people in the trench next to them. They only care about the trench they are in.

The free market isn't flawless, but it's a hell of a lot better than Socialism...and don't give this crap (well what about Social Security, what about this, what about that), those are SERVICES that are provided. It's a big difference between Socialism (Government Controlling) and social services.

That's rather interesting, since everything Obama chided McCain for during the campaign... he has since done himself.

Since Obama thinks McCain's ideas have been so wonderful, I would guess it wouldn't be any worse... plus we'd have someone with military experience to help during the war...

Social Security and Medicare are two "Services" that are each projected to be able to bankrupt this nation, each by itself.

Medicare, Social Security, and the Postal Service ready to default on it's financial obligations...

The free market may not be flawless, but it seems in a heck of a lot better shape than the Government at this point.
