HP "zeen" tablet and C510a printer.

We are in the market for a new printer. I was leaning towards a cheap all in one(HP of course for their Linux support and eprint) but I can get the HP C510a for around $300. It seems tempting, a cheap Android tablet for maybe $200 more than the printer. Has anyone used one of these? It would be nice if it ran 2.2, I really would like to know if it can play Angry birds, or will it be just as slow as my Eris. I know it doesn't have the market, but I could find apks for most of the apps I need.

Anyone have one of these? Is it worth it?

Well we picked this up through Amazon for less than $300. It actually works pretty good. This biggest problem is the lack of market and 2.1 OS. Fortunately it allows side loading, so I've been able to install apps that I can find the APK for. Angry Birds actually works great, better than my Eris. Although I'm not sure what version it is. It also has slideme which has some apps, but not nearly what is available in the market.

It is nice for surfing the web and the printing apps available are nice.

I'm really hoping HP will continue support and maybe even upgrade it to 2.2, although with their purchase of Palm that seems unlikely.

Wow!!! I'm impressed. I'm not a programmer but would like to try to load Angry Birds on this Zeen unit. Is it easy to do? Can you show me? Pretty please?!!

I was reading around and it looks like there is even a way to root the C510a partially at least but you can load APKs on the sdcard and then load them. People are saying things like astro and dolphinbrowser work fine. I am thinking of getting one of these this weekend when i pick up my xoom.

is there a file system that has to be followed in order it install apps? I believe you can put movies and ebooks on this thing also. I just got mine three days ago and figured out how to add books to the tablet.

It has a built in file manager, and can play some movies I think I have an AVI on mine. You can also load .apk files, so anything you can find online. There is an app store called slideME but apps are very limited. I did find Dolphin browser HD, which works great, only missing a print option the stock browser has.

If you ever feel the thing getting sluggish, restart it. Mine will get slow from time to time and this fixes it right up.
