Any confirmation of grandfathered unlimited data for 4g?

Has anyone been able to confirm that we can keep an unlimited data plan when moving to the Inspire?

I know about the leaked memo and the later retraction, but yesterday's discussion of "you won't get 4g speeds without moving to a 4g data plan" made me nervous (especially since no one seems to know if an unlimited 4g plan exists).

Going to the AT&T store soon; wondering how much of a headache this will be.

I called ATT and spoke with a rep a couple days ago and he said it didn't matter that I was coming from an iPhone, or that the data was 4G. I still keep my unlimited plan no problem.

Going to get my phone in about an hour, so I'll know for sure then but I'm confident that everything is going to be fine.

Take it from me, an at&t an employee. You KEEP your unlimited if you are grandfathered. The system replicates the code for the 2gig/200meg data for 3g to the 4g, along with grandfathered. The only time someone will most likely switch is if LTE comes out. YOU KEEP YOUR UNLIMITED DATA IF YOU GET A DEVICE THAT IS HSPA+ AS OF RIGHT NOW! (Inspire/Atrix etc etc).

The guy who just told me you couldn't use hspa+ just contacted someone at AT&T and told me what you just said. He said I won't be able to tether on an unlimited plan. I smiled and said that was fine.

I'll double confirm this.

The manager at the store I just got back from saw the code and was excited about it. It's the same plan just under new coding... does that sound about right, Oridus?

Thanks. That's the kind of confirmation I was looking for. I had read something about new 4g plan codes for 200mb/2g plans, but no mention of the unlimited plan.

Confirmed - I told the rep I wanted to keep my unlimited plan, and he said "No problem"

I just checked the online account manager; it's been updated with the new phone and new plan (unlimited "SMT personal").

The agent is definitely getting 5 stars from me when they survey me - he had a $50 of friends and family coupon he used - the phone cost me $49.99 + tax! (I didn't even bitch about the $18 upgrade fee).

You don't want to give him a 5. We are on a 1-10 scale now :) give him a 10!

I was assured that I was getting to keep mine and it looked like that on the contract, but when I called in due to connection problems they say the plan got "removed by the system" and they'll temporarily give me a 2GB data plan until it gets resolved. Should I be worried? I'm already concerned that my speed are EXTREMELY slow (averaging 20kbps down in the middle of Portland, OR).
