When you press and hold home, I noticed there is no Task Manager, where is that located at. I can't seem to find it as with normal 2.2 android phones.

My Inspire is charging, so some steps may not be perfectly described:

From the home, press the Menu button
Then choose Settings
From there, go to Applications (You need to scroll down some)
Then, you can manage running apps. If you don't like it this way, you can install a 3rd party application manager (Ex. Advanced Task Manager).

I can't help you here, but if you wait for another member to stumble upon this thread, they may be able to help you out.

Sorry,

Are the drivers on the phone??? Do I need to get them from the HTC website???

Matt

Did you get your driver problem figured out? PC or Mac?

On Windows 7, I just plugged in the phone, selected "Disk drive - Mount as disk drive" and clicked Done (you may or may not have to pull down the notification blind for this). The drivers automatically installed on my pc. Wait a few minutes and it appears as a drive in My Computer.

And if that still doesn't work, you can also transfer music wirelessly with Winamp.

When I unlock my phone, the clock widget seems to always update itself by flipping and it is always exactly 1 hour 2 minutes behind my time when it flips. Does anyone else do this, is that just the way it is or is there a setting I need to check.

Watched some Youtube vids and theirs did it also, have to watch closely when they unlock but their clock widget updates too and it was 1 hour 2 minutes then it flips as soon as they unlock, odd for it to do that but at least it's not just mine LOL!!

I'm new to Android, but is there a way to prevent some apps (such as "Stocks" for example) and others from running unless you actually choose to open them?

I downloaded Advanced Task Manager, and it seems like every time I open it, there are certain apps that always (or virtually always) show as running, and for the most part, they are ones that I do not need unless I specifically want to view them

Go to settings: Date & Time. Make sure everything is correct. Mine is set to Automatic. It looks like you can change it manually also.

Hi, this is a pretty newb question, but i cannot figure out this people function. I know the people widget is based on groups. All of my groups are blank.

When i go to add contacts to my group, the list of contacts is blank even though i have tons of people in the people list.

Can anyone walk me through this step by step? Why is my contact list blank?

I don't know if you figured out yet but I thought I would throw my 2 cents in. Make sure your wifi is OFF while setting up IMAP or it will not work.

For your contacts, did you get those backed up on the SIM card??? Because if so, they should have transferred, like mine did.

Second, the widget for people is something that I don't have any experience with, so as hard as it is to say this, I cannot help you here.

Sorry,

Is your weather set to update automatically? When I open the weather app, go to settings, I cannot choose to update automatically.

Yes your weather widget will refresh every 3 hours, unless you change it. If I can remember how to do so, I will get back to you. While I was going through the phone today I saw that setting, so I will do my best to find it.

Matt

UPDATE::: OK, when you click on the clock/weather widget, you come to the desk clock. Then you click on the desk clock to update the widget. Then touch the "Menu" capacitive button and pull up Settings. For me, for some reason, I cannot choose the update schedule, but you may. For me, it may be because I have a different launcher that also runs on the phone. Could be different for you, but I could access it earlier before I installed that launcher.

Hope that helped!

I have 2 gmail accts sync'd to my phone. Is there a way to have a short cut for each? I'm having to manually switch in the Google app to see each unique mailbox

I don't have any idea of what to do here, but I tried the switching thing that you do and didn't find it hard or a waste of time. The way I did it was go into the Gmail app, then click on my e-mail address and change it from there. If that is how your doing it, I think it will work out fine, but if not, let me know.
