Screw the Bionic and its encrypted bootloader and its dual core.
i fixed it for you
most phones(including the thunderbolt) come with a
locked bootloader, wich is a situation that is easily fixed. the bionic, however(like the X and droid 2) will have an
encrypted bootloader, wich means the bootloader is proteded by code, and a whole nother ball game
with the bootloader locked(wich is how it will stay if its encrypted, at least for a long time and not without ALOT of effort) root access can be gained,so root only apps can be used, some apps removed, wifi tether will work, and roms can be changed. however, you cannot change the kernel with a locked bootloader,so you are limited to the stock one, eliminating completely custom roms and kernels.
at any rate im with ya- ive discovered i like rooting and roming way to much to buy a phone with an encrypted bootloader. plus until android is really optimized to take advantage of the dual core processor, it wont really give you the feeling of much more speed or processing power.
thunderbolt has everything else-huge screen, front cam, good rear cam,4g capability, simultaneous data/voice... prolly one in my future as well
