So I just got my Inspire

And I was looking at a couple of things

A) Cases - Can anyone confirm that its the same body as the Desire as I was reading in some other threads? (And is this the Desire HD, Desire Z, or something else I'm unaware of?)

B) Insurance - I'm going to break it. Has anyone dealt with squaretrade, worth ave, or any of the other 3rd party insurers? What do you think? [No really, I went through like an iPhone screen every 2 months. I will break it.]

C) Android - Where do I start? Coming from iOS I'm not finding android to be the most intuitive, though I'm pretty tech savvy, so the grandma guide (and this is your power button) is a little too high level for me. So what are the sites I need to be aware of besides phandroid? where are some good starter guides?

D) Rooting - I know the benefits, has it been done for the Inspire yet? How time intensive is the process?

Thanks guys!

A- people are saying the cases are the same but one of the phones (the Desire HD or the inspire) is .2mm thinner. This phone is the same as the Desire HD. so if you want to try cases, thats the phone to get them for.

B- I have never had experience with the insurance you mentioned above. I have always gotten GWG - $70 one time fee, $25 deductible, brand new device (non refurbished)

C- check this search result page Google

D- Rooting has been done, but the process is a little difficult for the first time rooter. Id wait and follow the inspire section of the XDA-Developers site until everything is stable and full tested roms start appearing.

hope that helps !!

Yea, I looked through them, but I wasn't sure how durable they were (a bunch of them seemed to just be gels). So GWG would be like, if I bought my phone at Best Buy (or some other retailer) I could get it but not if I bought it at the AT&T store, and not after I purchased it anyway? Got it, thanks!

I dont think people realize how small of a difference .2 millimeters is.

If you look a at a ruler most of em have centimeters on the other side

10mm = 1 cm. One of the little sticks between each cm is 1mm

your talking about a quarter or a mm!!!

that's about 2-3 sheets of paper

im going to at&t this afternoon to find a case (I bought my phone at best buy)

i just got an iphone replaced through squaretrade it was pretty painless. it did require a $50 deductible, not sure if that is for all phones though or just the iphone. they overnighted the replacement iphone to me (16gb white) and with the prepaid slip they sent with it i sent them a shattered 16gb white iphone

you just have to have your receipt for the phone in question. if you lose receipts then once you buy the phone and if you go through squaretrade you can scan the receipt to them to hold on file.
