yea so i want to activate my phone i just bought but i need to go back to the original sprint software... it has the cyanogen 7 mod and clockworkmod i believe i am new to this so please.

I assume it is a CDMA phone on the Sprint network, if it is then re flash the RUU from the HTC website HERE, Follow instructions, download RUU to your PC, make sure you have HTC sync on your PC and load RUU to your phone while it is connected to your PC

You can also try flashing a Stock Sprint ROM that is rooted (remember to keep the file a .zip):[ROM] NFX-Sprint.STOCK.2.32.651.2.ODEX.A2SD Updated:11/23/2010 - xda-developers

To Flash, download the ROM file in the above referenced link to the root of the SD Card (not in a folder). Power off the phone and reboot into recovery by holding home+power. When the recovery loads, you want to wipe data/factory reset and Wipe Dalvik (the dalvik setting may be in the advanced menu if you are using Clockwork Recovery). Then go back to the main menu on the recovery and select install zip from sd card. Look for the .zip file you download and select it to install.

If you can't connect the phone with that ROM then you will have to Run the RUU from your PC like Don posted.

NFX ROM is good. I would also recommend Liquid Sense 2.1 ROM.

I use that one to update to my PRL and profile. It is really snappy for an Android 2.1 ROM.

+1 to running the ruu before activating the phone but they may be able to activate the phone only with a sense rom.

Heretic...you mentioned to me in another thread about returning to a sense ROM to update your PRL and profile. For clarification, do you perform a Nandroid of your current ROM and then flash the Liquid Sense ROM after wiping, etc.? Then you update your PRL and profile if needed -> wipe again ->flash back to your Nandroid you made?

CD, you don't have to flash another sense UI ROM, if you made a backup of your Rooted stock Rom, simply do a Nandroid of your current Rom, then restore your Stock Rom, Update Profile and PRL, then restore your current Rom

Yeah, like I said in that other thread, you can flash back to your stock ROM, like DonB mentioned above, OR you can go ahead and do a Nandroid backup of your current ROM, and then flash a Sense UI ROM like Liquid Sense 2.1. They both can handle the updating of the Profile and PRL. The Nandroid is so that you can return to your current ROM after you have updated the Profile and PRL in the Sense UI ROM. You are asking valid questions.

Just fyi, there is no need to wipe before restoring a nandroid, I recommend not doing so

I do not usually wipe before restoring a Nandroid, but I have a few times by mistake. Does it cause any ill effects I should be aware of?

How is your Sprint HTC EVO 4G working for you, andygu3? I am sure you love it.

I don't believe there are any ill effects with wiping before restoring a nandroid. But with ClockworkMod, I know for a fact that before restoring a nandroid, CM will format all before restoring

Ah! I saw the video of Honeycomb running on the Sprint HTC EVO 4G the other day.

I have had it running quite well on my B&N Nook Color, but I also switch back to the stock rooted ROM for the B&N book reading functionality, as well as Nookie FroYo. I cannot wait for the full source to be released!
